PROLOGUE
There was a time written in books as the Paleolithic Era. Those monsters of the stone age were really humans. Complex beings that couldn’t stand the fact that as complex as they are, they are not exempt from the consequences of life; Which is Death. Everything must end and die for the betterment of the rest of society, however damaged that concept of reality might be.
They were established beings, I call them. Hominins, you call them. Above all else, they had an upcoming demise. Death. Oh, but by what?
“If thou doth not light that match, thou should'st expect nought for supper.” his mother said.
“Worry not it shall work”
The child responded.
He dipped several matches in a tar in one hand and held one already lit match in the other. He collides the two and immediately hurls it towards a small gap. Underneath the fur pelt sewn structures where he had thrown the matches was wood.
The family covered their heads and swiftly ran away. Though the boy stayed. Frozen.
“Run! run, aroint!”
They cried to the surrounding members of the little town.
The buildings had burst into flames. And they have forgotten about one person. He drew closer to the fire, and sympathized with the burning beast.
All the debris of the huts was flung towards the evading crowds. In a larger explosion than expected.
And, for a fleeting moment, the boy thought.
Dost it hurt, titan? Dying?
He would’ve said that out loud but his mother would have to hear it.
The “village” was plentiful. Abundant in resources, and new ideas; Despite being a small town. Risking their lives each time they stepped out of their house, in case a destructive beast comes their way and kills them.
Far ahead of their time, they’ve figured out ways to cultivate and grow their livestock, their agriculture. Tame creatures, and manage their cold surroundings.
All because Great uncle, the chief of the tribe, decided it was better to stay at Kostienki anters for the sake of raising the children better. Great uncle wanted the children to be knowledgeable.
They were the first ‘society’, in their time. Apart from simple hunter-gatherer social groups. With each adult teaching a child a different asset. A society for the children, in a town with only a little over 40.
Although, thanks to an invasion of a giant. That was all lost.
