We are now at the airport. I didn't see Alek anywhere. I didn't even get to say good-bye. We walked to get our luggages, and got a taxi to go to our new home. Iowa looked like a farmer's paradise. We reached our home, and wasn't surprised at all. It looked very plain and simple. My mother and sister entered the home, while I went down the street to look around.
The neighborhood was very quiet, like a scene from The Walking Dead. I saw a nearby store, looked abandoned. I went inside, and there was an old man at the counter.
"What's a young fella doing here? Dont'cha have school?" He questioned.
"Ah, I just moved here. Hello, my name is Mizuri Yashino, nice to meet you sir," I said as clearly and nicely I could.
"You have good manners, unlike the kids 'round here. They should be out of school by now. Hope you like it here sunny boy. Want a pop?" He asked.
"P-pop? Is that a type bomb?" I asked shocked.
"B-bomb? Hahaha, no no boy. It's a uhh, soda!"
"Oh haha, no thank you."I heard the door to the store open. There was about 5 kids around 17 probably.
"Aye ol'man! Gimme 5 pops," one of the guys said.
"Who tha? Never seen'em befo," he said looking me up and down.
"H-hello, I'm.." I tried introducing myself.
"A nerd's not welcomed here, kid," he said.
"Ah... Well, I'm not really a..." I tried to explain, but once again got cut off.
"Hurry gramps, pop pop!"I just headed for the door. One of the girls gave me those evil looks. Guess everyone I meet just hates me. I headed for the main street back home. The street was much more lively than it was 10 minutes ago. Kids were everywhere. Cars going up and down the street. I tried to fit in, but I guess I couldn't. Everyone was staring at me. They would be whispering if they know who I am to each other. I ignored the whispers and went straight to my home.
"Mizuri, Yukki! Come here please," my mom yelled from the kitchen.
We went into the kitchen, and saw my mom making some lunch for us.
"We are going to the school tomorrow to sign you guys up for school. Make sure to unpack your clothes, and go take a shower.," she instructed.
"Okay okay," I said trudging up to my room.My sister stayed back to help unpack the kitchen supplies. All my stuff were on the floor in boxes and bags. I started with the smallest box, stuffing the socks and boxers into my drawer. Ugh, the kids here are so gangster. I don't know if I feel safe with my sister going there. What if she gets bullied. Seems like they don't like nerds. Even though she doesn't look like a nerd, she is one. A 12 year old in High School? Still can't believe it, haha.
I looked outside my window, and saw the school. Wasn't that far away, and it was pretty big. I heard some screams and yelps from below my windowsill. Seems like there's a fight going on. I ran downstairs, to see what they were fighting about.
I saw about 4 guys, and a group of people around them. One of them were small and scrawny, almost the same size as me.
"Hey! You should leave this town, filth like you aren't allowed here!" One guy with light brown hair said laughing, and the crowd laughing along with him.
"Aye boy, if you can't stand this, you should've left already," another boy said with really blond hair that looked almost white.
"B-but I can't my mom won't let me, and..." He said helplessly crying.
"Aww, what a baby. Crying over something so stupid. Are you scared? Hahaha!" The last boy said.I looked at everyone laughing along. I gritted my teeth clenching my hand. Don't get involved. Don't get involved! Don't....
POW!
The scrawny boy went flying onto our fence .
"Urgh... Please stop this...." He said gasping for air, tears running down his pale skin.
"What? You gonna tell your parents? Do you think they care for such a loser like you?" The blond head said laughing along with the others.I ran out my door, and grabbed the blond boy by the shirt. Pounched him so hard, that he went flying into the crowd of people. I went to the boy lying on the fence defeated.
"Hey, you alright?" I asked.
"You... What..." He said.
"Don't worry, I got you."I went to the others. "What do you want? Get out of my sight! Unless you want to get beaten!" I literally screamed out, sweat running down my face.
"Hah... Did you hear that guys? Get out? This isn't even your home, nerd," the brown head said.
"Not my house? I just moved in. Want a showdown?" I said raising my boney arms up in the air in front of me.
"Hah, don't need to waste my time with you, geek," a red hair boy that's hanging with them said,They left the scene. I looked back at the boy, he was crying silently by the fence.
"Don't cry, come inside. Let's get you some ice," I said offering my hand.
He looked up, and slapped my hand. "No need for your help. You just made things worse," he said getting up.I stood there in shock. The boy ran off down the street. I looked at my bruised knuckles, cussing silently, and going back inside.
