...

The building Eomma has found is an abandoned hotel.

The state of it is horrendous. There are light fixtures flickering, expensive furniture pieces ripped to pieces, and blood staining the walls. To his horror, he spots a dismembered arm lying on the check-in counter. The bits of blood and flesh trailing behind it lead to a phone torn off the wall; the receiver swings back and forth like a pendulum. Scanning the room, he spies a single elevator that's intact.

But before he can point it out, he hears a growl in the distance. He roughly pushes Onjo back.

"What—"

"Shh." Joonyeong holds a finger to his lips as the growls intensify. "There's a zombie. I'll take care of it."

Following the noise, he locates the zombie, which is hidden by a heavy curtain. Pulling it to the side, Joonyeong quickly drags it into view and snaps its neck, letting it drop to the floor.

"Is that the only one?" Onjo whispers.

"I think so," Joonyeong responds, turning around. "But get Namra just in case. I'm gonna see if the elevator works."

As Onjo heads back out to get Namra, Joonyeong hurries to the elevator, pressing the button. From the looks of it, the hotel wasn't too affected by the explosion despite the current destruction. He hopes it'll work, for he has no interest in climbing multiple flights of stairs.

When the telltale ding! of the elevator resounds and its doors slide apart, Joonyeong lets out a breath of relief.

"Ya!" he yells across the lobby as Onjo brings Namra in. "There's an elevator, and it works! We can go up and sleep in the hotel rooms!"

Onjo gives him a thumbs-up before going back out and presumably relaying the info to the others.

"You're shitting me!" Daesu yells from the door, barreling past the others and nearly knocking Hyoryung over. He's the first to reach the elevators as he repeats, "You're shitting me!"

"I'm telling you, it works," Joonyeong insists. To demonstrate, he pushes the button again. Daesu lets out a cheer as the doors slide open once more.

"Nice," Woojin comments as he and others make it to Joonyeong's side. Joonyeong's heart warms when he sees he's still holding Soowi.

"Here, I'll take her," Joonyeong says, holding out his arms.

"You sure?"

"Yeah."

Nodding, Woojin hands Soowi over, and that's when Eomma emerges from behind Suhyeok, whose arm is around Namra's shoulders protectively.

"Okay," she says authoritatively, calling everyone's attention. "The elevator's stability might have been compromised due to the explosion, so I suggest we go two at a time. How does that sound?"

"Sounds good, Eomeoni," Woojin replies.

"Okay! I'll go first," Daesu announces, pressing the elevator button. "Who wants to come with me?"

"I'll come," Suhyeok volunteers immediately, stepping away from Namra.

"Okay. I'll hold the door open while you two get inside," Eomma tells them.

"Which floor should we go to?" questions Hyoryung.

"The first one," Joonyeong tells her as he presses the button. "If something happens, we don't want to be too far above ground."
