Historia looked at the vast fields of lush greenery on her farm from the comfort of her rocking chair. The cool wind blew through her long, blonde hair as she closed her eyes and took in the tranquility of the environment.
The sound of children laughing and playing in the grass blessed her ears. It was the sound of newfound hope and life after the Rumbling threatened to destroy all of humanity outside of the island of Paradis.
She remembered the Wall Titans's footsteps echoing across Paradis, from the mainland to its shores. Her partner, a man named Wolfgang (who impregnated her with her first and only child), thought that it was the Eldians' punishment from God for getting involved with life beyond the Walls.
However, he was not a Subject of Ymir.
He never learned the truth.
The person who unleashed this cataclysmic event onto the earth was none other than Eren Jaeger, a man she once considered humanity's greatest hero...and a good friend.
As she heard his declaration through the Paths of trampling the world flat through the Rumbling, she was appalled to hear the once kind and brave young boy she once knew resort to genocide for "his people".
Fortunately, this rampage was stopped by an alliance of former members of the Survey Corps and Marleyan ex-soldiers led by Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert. The news their victory was wonderful to Historia but it came at a heavy price. Billions of people were slaughtered, and Eren had to be killed by Mikasa in order for the Rumbling to end.
Afterwards, with the help of the newly formed Eldian Republic, she was able to convert her house into an orphanage that she titled "The Reiss Residence For the Capable". Many small children who lost their parents during the Rumbling emigrated to Paradis and were raised by Historia's colleagues. It always gave her joy to see these children happy, but there was always that hole in her heart, the hole that could never...

The familiar noises of neighing and galloping horses interrupted Historia's thoughts. The children took notice of this as well and ran to the wooden front gate.
"Careful, kids!" Historia cried out, "We don't want splinters now, do we?"
Most of the living members of the "Eldian Alliance" (the title that Eldians used to describe the faction that defeated Eren) had arrived to the farm, which included Mikasa, Armin, Connie Springer, and Jean Kirschtein.
They had all of their horses's collars fastened to the fence post as they opened the gate. As soon as they set foot on the property, the children swarmed to Connie and Jean like bees to honey. They gained a reputation to killing ten of the Wall Titans in total.
"Mr. Jean!" One of the young boys said enthusiastically, "Did you really poke your sword into that Titan's ear?"
"Well," said Jean, "That's not exactly how it-"
"He sure did!" Connie interjected, "Jean said, 'Hey, Mr. Titan! We're gonna kick your butt for being a meanie!' and started prodding him with his sword. That gave me enough time to throw some leftover rations into the Titan's eyes, and he fell flat on his face! For such a big guy, he sure was clumsy."
The children gasped in awe at their saviors, amazed by how they could beat such a large Titan with food.
As Armin and Mikasa were showing off their now outdated ODM gear, Historia whistled over to them while Jean and Connie were occupied with the kids.
