The loud ting shook the greyhaired boy out of his trail of thoughts, he immediately rushed to the oven, grabbing a pair of gloves while he was at it. He stopped near the oven, and carefully opened the hot lid. A strong whiff of freshly baked cake entered his nostrils and he reached out to take it out. He carefully handled the hot tray, trying not to burn his delicate skin, and placed it over the counter.Blowing off the breath he didn't know he held for a while, he leaned his hand over the edges of the counter, turned his head down, and let out a long exasperated sigh. "That's the last one", he mentally noted. He was tired, exhausted to death but that's the last thing he would care about. He heard his phone ringing. Looking up, he saw the phone flashing his favorite Jin hyungie's number. Of course.
"Taehyung-ah, apppaa, when are you com-, ahhh,-ing to fetch him?-pAppa".
The grey-haired could hear his little pup babbling in baby language making his heart swell in delight. Might be the time to fill his little tummy, he mused.
"Jimin is screaming his lungs out and he won't listen to me", he mildly chuckled hearing his hyung ranting about his baby being cranky. "My shift will end in 30. I'll come to get him soon. Please hold him for a while".
Park Jimin was Taehyung's three years old pup. Sadly for him, he couldn't have the best childhood parents would fancy for their child to have. Nearly a year after his birth, his daddy passed away fighting against a deadly disease that had his wolf extremely weak.
Park Bogum, Jimin's father and Taehyung's mate was an alpha, a best one at that. He was everything a mate could ask for, a bestfriend, a loving husband, and an amazing father. A complete package.
But life isn't always rainbows and unicorns, Taehyung learned it the hard way. He had seen the worst, lived through the hardest of times, and yet survived, came out even stronger. 4 months into Jimin's birth when Bogum started to develop symptoms of Demon Drip Disease. Looking back on the day, he remembers the memory fresh as forever when Bogum broke the news about his deadly disease. His wolf was growing weak with every passing day, fighting against his own body, trying to set himself free.
Taehyung was devasted, to say the least. His mind was a whole mess, his thoughts disturbed, his heart unsettled. He couldn't control his tears. Later that night, the mates held their hands and let their tears shed, the tiny drops of water carrying loads of their misery and unfulfilled dreams. What else could possibly go wrong? They were just one perfect couple, mated and then the moon goddess blessed them with a beautiful child, which was a miracle in itself.
Everyone was awestruck, shocked to their cores when Taehyung revealed that his newborn baby irises' flashed red, which in prospect meant he could present as a trueblood. This only happened once in a blue moon. In retrospect, the people regarded this event an an interesting addition to werewolves' history.
Said, nothing lasts forever. True to this all of a sudden, everything changed for the pair. The tables turned and the world turned upside down. The death of his beloved had him traumatized for a whole year, drowning in depths of self-pity and despair. The young omega lost all his hope for life, he didn't see any purpose in what life held for him. He took himself for a mere body void of any emotions and feelings, his soul was like a dark space filling him up giving him no excuse to live, urging him to end his life for the better.
