You don't know how, but the next morning you find yourself at your apartment.
You slowly wake up, and open your eyes to see your same-old home.
Home, you're not sure if this is the right way to explain this place.
Because this, whatever this place is, is not your home.
Well yes, you moved in here last month but you don't need time to adjust.
You are actually very adjustable person. By the age of eighteen you moved around a lot, that explains your accent.
With time you got used to that, you got used to the fact that: home in fact is not a place, maybe it's a person and is that's true, then your home are your friends. The friends you haven't seen in a month, but you know they're all right. It has to be this way, you think to yourself.

You finally get up, and walk to your kitchen. You're looking for an aspirin, because your head hurts. Yes, you survived worse things than hung-over headaches but right now, you want to focus on something else as you think about the events from last night.

In a way, you're proud of yourself for being courageous last night. But fuck, that wasn't supposed to happen. You messed up, you know that. But why are you smiling then?

Your brain is fighting two parts of you right now:

Side A:
kissing Matt was the best thing ever. You want to try that again.

Side B:
kissing Matt was the worst thing ever. You want to start digging your own grave, as you'll die from embarrassment the next time you see him.

And in a way, you were lucky. You didn't see Matt that day, or the next few days.
Matt on the other hand, had the best morning after that night. He woke up, feeling relaxed, and happy. He kissed you or you kissed him, everything was burly at first, but he remembers every detail of your lips. And your lips were a work of art in his opinion.

Karen asked him what happened that night between you two. He didn't tell her about the kiss, he only said that he walked you home. Karen suspected that was a he wasn't telling her the whole truth. So she called you.

You also didn't mention the kiss, and somehow Karen was convinced that nothing happened. She also asked you why you aren't at work, and you lied and told her that you're sick.
Matt wanted to being you soup or something when he heard. He wanted to see
you, but he decided not to.

And after a week of hiding in your apartment, you finally went to work.

Your gallery stayed the same, so did the number of cases at Nelson&Murdock 's office.
You weren't sure if you should visit their office. Matthew was so close, yet so far away, lost in his own thoughts and he didn't even notice when you walked in. Yes, you decided to come and say hi.

" Hi " you say as you walk in the office and hug Karen, who is seated behind her desk.

"Hey, I've missed you. Are you feeling better?"

" Yeah, I'm a lot better. Just wanted to say hi, before I go to get launch " you lied.
You just wanted to see if Matt is here, and he is. He walks out his small office room and greets you.

"Oh hi" is all he says. He also stayed the same. He's wearing an anther suit and his red glasses. His hair is messier than the last time you saw him, but everything else is the same. I mean, what could change in a week?

" Hi " you say again.
" I was just getting launch, do you guys want something "

"I want a million dollars, but hey we can't always have what we want" Foggy joins the conversation.

" Well I was thinking of getting pizza. Do you want something more realistic, Foggy? " You ask with a sarcastic voice.

"I'll have a vegetarian pizza, please" says Karen.

" Okay, what else? Come on, I'm taking orders "

"I'll have the same, it would be nice if I can also get the money" jokes Foggy.

" Matthew, what about you? " you ask, and the whole attention shifts to him.

"Do you mind if I come with you? I know a great place just around the corner"
he smiles, and how can one refuse that smile?
Well you, around two times when you ignored him when he asked for your number.
But that was all before you kissed, so of course you say:

" Yeah sure, lead the way "

-

"So how have you been?" he asks as soon as you walk out his office. You take his hand and answer:

" I'm all right now. I was feeling feverish the last few days though " a lie

"Oh yeah, Karen mentioned that"

" And you, how are you? "

"All's well. Work has been stressful, but yeah I'm all right"

" Any interesting cases? You know, few years ago I watched a lot of murder documentaries and I know few layer terms " you say, and that's another lie.

"This new client is somehow connected to this woman Villa, the police are after her, but there's no proof for anything.
Foggy and I know her since
working at Landman&Zack 's,
she also worked there. But that's her cover up or something-

you don't hear the rest. You are too busy looking at his face, his lips.

And Matt noticed that, and apologized for his mumbling.

" Oh no, I'm totally invested,
please continue " you lie, again.

He laughs and continues.

You walk for few more minutes, and you are finally here. This place looks old, but you trust Matt judgment.

When you get inside, you are greeted by an old man, who seems to recognize Matt.

"Oh look who decided to show up. Matty, I haven't seen you in months, where have you been?"

"I'm here now, and work has been busy. But how are you Tom, how are the kids?" Matt says to the old man, whose name apparently is Tom.

"Ah, they're fine. Celia just turned seven, and Ben is a freshman this year" Tom says proudly.
"I totally forgot to ask who's this pretty lady you've got here Matty" he asks.

You laugh at the nice compliment and you introduce yourself.
" You've got a nice place here Tom, do you mind is we order some pizza? " you kindly ask.

"Anything for Matty and his friend" he smirks. Matt smiles and leads you to a small booth.
You look around and this place looks like it's from a 90s movie. The walls are colored in faded red and the floor is with black and white tiles.

"Can I ask you something?"

" Well you already asked a question, but sure go ahead " you say as you take a seat in front of Matt.

"You remember that we kissed, right?" he knows you remember and he doesn't even need his senses to confirm that.
He just knows that he's a great kisser.

" I don't know what you are talking about " you laugh nervously, you try to sound sarcastic.
He knows you are lying, and he just smirks.

" All right, of course I remember. You are a great kisser "

"I know, and you are not so bad yourself"

" So, should we do it again? " you ask in an attempt to flirt.

You already made up your mind, you are listening to Side A of your brain, which is:

-Kissing Mat is all right, more than that. You should also stop following all those rules and live a little.

"Yes, are you free tomorrow?"

-
