As I pull away from Aster I glance at his right arm, just below his shoulder on the outside is his white and black Decepticon tattoo. But below that is a scratched-out tattoo. If I look closely it does kinda look like...a white and black Autobot tattoo.
So...Aster really was an Autobot? But if so, why did he become a Decepticon? And why did he kill so many of his friends and allies? I just don't understand. Aster never acts like a Decepticon, other than the broody personality. Unlike other Decepticons, he cares about humans, to an extent.
But at least he cares.
"Kaydi," Aster mutters, I flinch slightly, my gaze shifting up to meet his chill blue eyes. His hands are still resting on both of my arms, and I only just realize the close distance between us. From just a few feet away I see my mother smile softly.
"Huh, what?" Aster sighs, leaning insanely close to my face. My face burns bright red once he stops, I can feel his breath on my ear.
"Tell your Autobot friends," His grip tightens slightly, my eyes widening. "The Autobot Slayer is retiring for a while," I flinch again, he's...retiring? Is that even possible? How? What exactly does retiring mean?
I don't really get the chance to ask any questions since he walks towards the door. "Hey! Aster!" I turn toward him but don't chase after the mech.
"Hey Kaydi, do me a favor and don't piss of Metalwing tomorrow. Or how about, don't piss him off ever." He pauses at the door, "Stay safe, little human." His eyes return to red just before he leaves, the door shutting behind him.
"Kaydi, are you getting a fever? Your face is awfully red," My mother comments while putting a hand to my forehead. A hidden smile on her face.
"Er. No. I'm fine mom," The Autobots come out of hiding finally. The first to speak is Ironhide.
"Are you alright, Kathryn, Kaydi?" He walks over and gently puts a hand on my mother's shoulder, this soft and caring tone in his voice.
"How dare that damn Metalwing lay a hand on either of you," Sideswipe complains, his eyes are extremely close to turning red for some reason. "And that stupid Aster, what's he know? Why's he gotta say all that stuff about us being dead and what not?!" Sunstreaker smacks Sideswipe in the back of the head with his fist, it's hard enough that it almost knocks him off his feet.
"Didn't you see his optics, you dumbass?" Sideswipe grumbles for a few seconds.
"Yeah, I know. But still..." I shift my feet uncomfortably, my gaze finding Moonracers, who is still hiding in the back of the barn.
While the mechs are all talking, I slip back towards the femme. "Hey, Moonracer was it?" She glances up at me, this pained look filling her dull blue eyes. I get no response, so I just stand there in silence for a minute or two.
"Well, my name is Kaydi Jones. And I guess we're the only two females around here, so we gotta have each other's backs, yeah?" Moonracer looks up at me from her place on the ground, "So, you wanna tell me a bit about Cybertron? The boys all seem busy arguing and well...I don't know...you seem like a good person to hear it from," Her eyes brighten slightly as I sit down next to her.
"R-Really?" Her voice is small and adorable. I don't understand how someone so...sweet could be a part of a war like this. But I know, deep down she isn't weak. She may appear it, but she isn't. That much I know for a fact.
"Yeah, we can be friends too. If you want of course..." I smile softly seeing her eyes almost entirely bright again, she then begins telling me stories of Cybertron. Stories about her friends, Arcee, Chromia, Firestar, Beta, and most of all...Elita one. She told me all about how Elita one was their group leader, and how she was Optimus Prime's sparkmate. But also, how all of them died.
