The previous chapter summed up some things. But there's still a lot missing. April seems strong, but the truth is she actually breaks down when she gets home from school. Sometimes she cries before she goes to bed. She's always thinking about the stuff that goes on in her life. All the drama, death, bullying and pain. She's always hibernating in her room because she thinks it's the only safe place she has.
April doesn't really trust people. She might tell people some things, but there's a lot people don't know. For example, people don't know what goes on at home. At home, she has to deal with her family bullying her. They call her names and say things about her weight. They say they're joking, but to her it's not funny. Also there's a lot of yelling and hatred at home. Her parents are always yelling at each other and their kids. Then her siblings fight all the time. Her mom is always saying she hates her (April's) dad. Then her dad is always pulling her aside and asking her who she would go with if he left.
Her family is so messed up, she just wants to leave. She actually tried running away twice. She got caught both times. The second time she tried, she got caught by the cops. She ended up getting taken to CPEP. She liked it there better than being home. She was only there for one night though. But wishes to go back sometimes.
She never thought her life would turn out like this. She goes through so much that it's eating her up. She hopes no one has to face what she faces. All the pain and suffering is just unbelievable. Her parents are always asking how she could be so depressed. And she doesn't even know how. She's confused herself. Things that have been going on have just messed with her mind. She can't think straight anymore.
There was this one thing that absolutely broke her. The time her great grandpa died was October 2nd, 2012. It was really hard for her. He was like her best friend. He would always cheer her up. Just seeing him smile made her day. So when he had that stroke and not make it... she was devastated. She didn't know how she was going to live without her best friend. At his funeral, she couldn't say goodbye. She couldn't even walk up to the casket or watch it drop into the ground. She cried so much, her shirt was soaked with tears. She cried so loud that it sounded like she was screaming. She just couldn't handle the pain. Just talking about it, sometimes, makes her cry.
Every night is a struggle for April. She can't sleep because of how much is on her mind. She's always miserable or upset. She doesn't really talk to anyone. She's just an anti-social person. She does her own thing, but stays in the shadows. People are too judgmental for her to come out. She's just not ready, so keep reading...
