Kipo let Wolf rest for the day and night, waiting til the next morning before they could keep on moving. Kipo's leg was still injured, but Wolf couldn't feel the bump in the road so it was alright. By dawn, they reached the place they were meant to be.

Wolf was asleep, Kipo had asked her aunts to allow the human and herself a place to rest for the night. It was agreed, so it's been three days after their departure. "She's healing just fine dear." A goat spoke. "You don't need to worry so much."

Kipo squeezed Wolf's hand, "I know, but I can't help it..She means alot to me.."

"Listen Kipo," Another goat, more strict, spoke. "You need to be treated for your own wounds. If you don't let us treat them, you're not coming back."

Kipo looked back at the trio of goats, sighing, "Okay.." Kipo kissed Wolf's hand, placing it down. "I'll be back."

She stood, going over to the goats who guided her to a separate room with her aunts. Wolf unfortunately, was waking up. Unfortunate how? She couldn't move. "Kipo.." Wolf tensed. "Kipo.."

Wolf's body wouldn't listen to her. It was tired, it was injured, and it was cold. "Mgh..Kipo..!" Wolf shivered. "That..Stupid mute..Ugh.."

She relaxed her body, sighing quietly when it ached in response. "Guess I'll wait.."

Kipo came back after half an hour, she has to use a cane for the time being now while her leg heals. Kipo sat by Wolf's head, moving her hair back. "Oh thanks..That was really bothering me.."

"Wolf--"

"I can't move.."

Kipo stilled her heart, "Of course you can't..They numbed your body so you wouldn't resist the bandages. Even while you were asleep, you still squirmed." Kipo caressed Wolf's cheek. "Need me to scratch something?"

"Arm..Left bicep.."

Kipo gently scratched the area, "Here?"

"To the right a bit..There." Wolf sighed quietly. "Thank you.."

Kipo frowned, "I've never seen you so..Scared before, Wolf.."

Wolf tensed up, gritting her teeth as she felt sensations slowly return. "It hurts.."

Kipo lied by Wolf properly, pulling her over. "I'm sorry Wolf.."

"Hicc--"

Kipo rubbed Wolf's back, feeling her shirt grow wet as Wolf cried. "I didn't mean for this to happen my little pup..I didn't meant it.."

Wolf hiccuped, "Kipo I've never been this scared in my life-- W..Why am I so scared all of a sudden..?--"

"It'll get like that sometimes.." Kipo kissed her head. "Once I finish what I need to here..You're not coming on any more missions..You'll rest, and you won't have to see me anymore.."

"You think that'll help..--?"

"I've put you in too much danger, Wolf. I can't be doing that. You're staying at the burrow once we're done here. But after that, and when the war starts.." Kipo held Wolf close. "You'll be safe. You won't step outside til it's resolved, and you won't have to live through the war long.."

Wolf gripped Kipo's shirt, "Just promise you'll be okay.."

"I can't keep the promise Wolf.." Kipo uttered. "I'd promise you anything, a ring, healthier planet, a home..But I can't promise you my safety..I won't even try to lie..But I can't keep you waiting for something that'll never happen.."

"Then..Will you lie to me..?" Wolf whispered.

"Lie?" Kipo clarified.

"Lie.." Wolf nodded. "Just let me hear what I want to be told..So I have more time to accept whatever happens when it does.."

Kipo squeezed Wolf, and honestly. She was scared. She'd probably never see Wolf during or after the war. Kipo was scared of the outcome. But she had a pack to protect. A family to try and return to. "..I'll come back to you Wolf.." Kipo began. "I'll come back in one piece.."

"Alive.."

Kipo nodded. "Alive. I'll come back to you alive and in one piece. We'll go visit some nice places on the surface together..Eat some nice food.."

"Mm.."

Kipo comed her fingers through Wolf's hair, trying to think of what else she'll do with Wolf. "We can raise Mandu to be a good boar."

Wolf smiled at the thought, "Okay.."

"..And..I'll never leave you.." Kipo felt herself tense, refusing to let tears pour out. "We'll be together..Til our very last breaths.."
