Chapter 6

Walking out of the student council office I saw Yumi, Mae and that other person still waiting.

"Now then. Mae, would you please walk Prim home? Bonnie and I are going to investigate the area where Prim was attacked."

"Huh? How do you even know where I was attacked? I never told you." Raven looked a bit guilty as she glanced in Bonnie's direction. At least I know her name now.

"I'm sorry if this bothers you but, I had Bonnie help me take a peek inside of your memories. We couldn't see who attacked you. All that we know is where it happened."

"I see. It's fine, it's not like I had anything to hide. My life is pretty boring after all..." I started feeling depressed again. Shaking my head I start to walk on ahead only to be stopped by Yumi.

"I refuse to let Mae travel alone with this beast."

Ok that hurt. I don't like that Yumi hates me. Before I was content with people ignoring me, but displaying that they hate me in front of them hurts.

"Yumi. Leave them be, I trust Mae. She's able to protect herself. You two have been training together haven't you? I actually want you to help us track this killer. We can't have anymore Hybrids in town. The more people who help us track the better." Raven stated.

Yumi turned towards me as she glared.

Damn if looks could kill I'd be dead in a heartbeat.

"If I find out that you so much as lay a finger on Mae, I'll kill you myself."

"N-Noted."

As soon as they left I began to make my way out of the school building not really caring that Mae's running behind me.

"Slow down! This isn't a marathon! Geez."

It's better to ignore her. She seemed to like that idea as well. I mean I did try killing her earlier but-

My eyes widened as I saw the new series of demon slayer. I had watched the first season and fell in love, I knew they where coming out with a second season but this soon?!

"You like anime?"

I tensed as I nervously looked over at Mae. I expected to see disgust on her face but instead she looked excited.

"I-Is that going to be a problem?"

"No! I actually love all things anime! I even read manga. Nobody in the student council likes it though so it's nice to finally talk about it with someone!"

I began to relax more as she went on about demon slayer. Apparently her favorite character was Inosuke which surprised me. I don't really have a favorite character, I just really like the story and animation.

Buying the second season we finally made it to my house. As I walked in I noticed Mae still standing in front of my front door. I figured once she dropped me off she would leave, but it looks to me like she wants to stay.

"Do you want to come in?" Her eyes beamed in happiness as she made herself at home. She was the complete opposite of me.

"Well don't just stand there! Put it in!"

I see. She wanted to watch the series with me. Well maybe not with me, but who knows. It could be fun.

As we watched the anime I was slowly beginning to hate it. I don't know why it's just, seeing them kill the demons didn't set well with me. Great. Another one of my favorite shows ruined.

As soon as it ended I couldn't help but noticed How Mae fell asleep. Making up my mind I gently yet slowly grab her phone from her bag trying very hard not to wake her up. Walking into the other room I was surprised to see her phone unlocked. She really should keep a passcode on this thing.

Scrolling through her contacts I found Yumi's name and reluctantly call her.

To my surprise she answered immediately.

"Mae are you ok?! Are you hurt?! Don't tell me that beast hurt you! Forget it I'm on my way! I knew I couldn't trust her!"

"Um, I'm sorry to disappoint but I'm not Mae."

"YOU! Why the hell do you have her phone?! I swear if you hurt her-"

"I didn't. Thing is she fell asleep on my couch. I just thought it would be wise to call and tell you."

"Address."

"Huh?"

"Tell me your address now."

On second thought. Maybe calling her wasn't the best idea. None the less I gave her my address. Almost immediately I heard my front door open and close. Peeking into the living room I saw Yumi checking Mae over as she glared in my direction.

Honestly. What relationship do these two have?

"What did you do? She was supposed to drop you off then meet up with us."

"I didn't do anything but buy a new anime ser-"

"That explains it. Your an anime nerd to huh? Great. And here I thought I'd be able to pull her away from it. But if your sticking around that just means she'll try bonding with you since you like the same stuff. Either way I forbid you to hang out with her. The only way you to can even speak to each other is if Raven somehow puts you guys back together which I won't let happen again. Got that?"

"Got it." I toss Yumi Mae's phone as she easily picked her up.

Before she left I wanted to ask her something.

"Before. When I thought you where like me, your not right? So what are you? I know you can't be human."

"Your right, I'm not. But I'm not a monster like you either. Besides unlike you I'm at least somewhat human. I'm just not fully human, that's all you need to know."

And with that she left.

So she's human but again she's not human? UGH! How confusing. Well whatever, if she doesn't want to tell me that's fine by me.
