that shines bright and reflects
my DARK BEAUTIFUL SKIN.
I slay my crown
HAIR UPP!!! my AFRO defines gravity!
How dare you?! COPY MY CULTURE, STEAL MY PRIDE
TELL ME THAT BLACK IS DIRT, DEFINE MY STYLE
DIM MY LIGHTS, CLOSE MY EYES
BUT my skin FIGHTS to be seen
I know it hurts your eyes to see me superior than thy
TAKE A STEP BACK! AS YOU WATCH ME OWN MY THRONE.
I walk my walk and sing my songs
Dance to the beats of the DJEMBE
SHINE my black skin, WEAR my hair like CROWN
cuz I am a KING! , QUEEN I slay!!!
I wear my DREADS proud and strong, they warm my body and protect my soul, GROUND me of my roots that were covered. THEY REMIND ME!!!
