It was the day before Halloween and you, Dan, and Phil were almost done finishing your scary movie week challenge. It was Phil's idea of course, he always had the best ones. The rules were that each night you would watch an increasingly scary horror film up until Halloween. Whoever got scared the most by the end of the week had to do the dishes for a month.
So far, the movies hadn't been very scary. Mostly just masked murders and creepy psychopathic children. Tonight, however, was the night to top all nights. The three of you had decided to save the newest, and by what everyone said, the scariest horror movie for the last night of the challenge. Tonight.
Phil slotted the DVD into the DVD player and sat back on the floor leaning against the couch next to you and Dan. As the movie began to play you saw Dan's eyes widen in horror. It was a supernatural movie, the kind of movie that scared Dan the most. You smiled to yourself. It appeared you and Phil wouldn't be doing the dishes next month.
About an hour into the movie, however, you started to lose confidence. Dead bodies were constantly strewn everywhere throughout the movie and even little children were getting mutilated and dragged away by invisible hands.
Dan had moved to his little corner of the couch with his jacket pulled halfway up his face and his knees huddled to his chest, probably so that demon hands wouldn't reach through the gap in the bottom of the sofa to grab his leg and pull him under. Even Phil was looking scared, staring, unblinking, at the television.
It was around 2 AM by the time the movie was over and none of you wanted to turn off the lights. Phil ended up being nominated and you and Dan ran to your rooms as Phil walked through the hallway flicking the switches down.
When you got to your bedroom you leaped under your blankets and pulled them tight over your head. No monster was getting through there. For at least another 45 minutes you stared at your ceiling, well, the bottom of your blanket, trying to think happy thoughts.
You live with Dan and Phil. They consider you a great friend. They're probably just as scared as you are. That movie wasn't even real. It's all in your mind. Go to sleep go to sleep go to sleep. Finally fatigue overcame you and you drifted off into a much needed sleep. As your dream went on, however, you wished that you hadn't.
It started off as a normal, quite wonderful, day hanging out with Dan and Phil in the park. As you were chatting and laughing Dan and Phil fell silent staring at you with matching disgusted looks on their faces. Slowly, you looked down at your clothes. They had become stained and tattered. You quickly reached up and felt your face. It was covered in bumps and wrinkles. You gasped and turned back to see both of them slowly backing away.
"What kind of freak are you?" Dan shouted.
"Get away from us!" Phil exclaimed.
"She is SO GROSS!"
"Why did we ever hang out with her?"
"She's a disgusting freak with a matching personality. No one will ever love her!" Dan finally screamed before he and Phil turned around and started sprinting away. Hot tears streamed down your face and you could still see Dan and Phil's horrified faces as they kept turning around making sure the distance between you and them was quite large and that you weren't following.
Lowering your head you began to believe them. As you started shuffling away an invisible hand suddenly grasped your ankle causing you to scream. It began to drag you into a dark pit that only now had become visible. That wasn't the worst thing though. As you looked up one more time at the fading light you saw Dan and Phil smiling and laughing. At you. You quit struggling and closed your eyes allowing the invisible beast a final tug before pulling you completely under. What was life worth, you thought to yourself, if no one loved you.
(Sorry for the dramatic ending guys. Part 2 will have the actual Dan x Reader in it. Hope to see you guys there-AvianAmerican)
