He bent down to her height, brought his face close to her face. Her eyes trailed his flawless face, self awareness overcoming her. She suddenly realised that he was close enough to hear her heart beat, the thumbing so loud it would be impossible for him not to hear.
She could feel his cool breath fanning on her cheeks. Her hands itched to grab his shirt. He was so close. The smell of the sea filled her senses. Her head was spinning; she felt a bit dizzy.
His hair tickled her cheeks. Blond stray locks so soft it almost felt like a feather brushing against her gradually warming cheeks. He smirked. His soft lips were close enough to touch her cheeks. But then,
"You still have to do your assignments for next week."
He hid his smirk with a mask of indifference. Blue eyes traced at her indignant expression, revelling in how her mouth drew into a pout, eyebrows creasing with annoyance at the little skit he just pulled. She huffed; turned her head to the side, opting to ignore the king of the seas. Her heart was still beating erratically in her chest. She had not yet recuperated from this little -what even was that?
(name) shook her head as if it would help clear her muddled mind as the feeling of him pressed against her, leaning over her figure, lips so close to her ears that she could feel his every breath on her lobe resurfaced. The smell of sea lingered on her. Her senses were still enveloped with that captivating scent that was unique to Poseidon.
A thought crossed her mind as the scene replayed in her mind. Earlier conversations with Hades' wife came back to her. Realisation dawned onto the young woman. She didn't know whether she should be amused or mortified that Poseidon heard their conversation. She still remembered the mirth in her that day as she told the Queen of the Underworld about how people in her world, usually teased their partners to keep them on their toes so that the relationship never becomes boring. Was this- was this Poseidon's idea of teasing?!
