A/n: Dabi needs more screen time!!

After her therapy session, Ryu went back to hanging with the villain squad. But only found Dabi. Toga was asleep and Shigaraki just didn't wanna socialize. So it was just Ryuketsu and Dabi sitting on the rooftop. "How was your shrink session?" He asked her while smirking, expecting her response to something along the lines of "totally ass".
But he got something way unexpected. "It was actually okay. I'll keep going and keep participating if it keeps me out of jail." She told him. And she was telling the truth, of course the session made her a little uncomfortable but overall it took some weight off if her shoulders. The only other person who knew about her old life was her boss.

"The doc actually is okay? Maybe I'll follow after you try it too." He joked with her. Ryuketsu felted deflated so she didn't have any smartass responses to give. "Heavy?" Dabi questioned, not turning to even face her. He just looked straight ahead. "Kinda. You ever think about life before being a criminal? And how it could've been had you stayed?" Ryu didn't face him either, copying his actions. The questioned being asked if him bought Dabi off guard. He hadn't given it much thought. Of course he missed those that he used to love. But for him life was fleeting. It hurt not matter how much he tried lightening the blow. So he gave up on loving people. He even liked you, didn't like you or didn't care. "Yea I used to think about it a lot. Not anymore though. I think if I hadn't taken up a life of crime, I'd be living for everyone but me. And what's life without self indulgence? Not one worth living." Ryu thought about his answer for a moment, relating to living for someone else. She doesn't regret being the kind of person she is and doing what she does. But how could she be sure that all that's been done is right if all her "what if's" can't be answered? What if she had just done right by her families name, marrying that boy and listening to her father? What if she just ran away and lived a normal life under a new name? Her thoughts were interrupted by Dabi's voice. "Don't sweat it kid. After this we'll be back to doing that same shit. Nobody can save us from this life. Where there's heroes there must be villains, that's how the world works. Good and evil equaling each other out, you know?"
For a few minutes they sat in silence, enjoying each other company. Ryu felt closer to him somehow like he allows a side of vulnerability to escape out of her without her even noticing. She laid her head on his shoulder, still not looking or speaking to him. He was the one to break the silence. "Your gentleness kinda reminds me of my mother when I was young. She'd get quiet too and sit with me like this." And he didn't elaborate anymore past that.
So this is what it felt like to have an older brother sort of? They just sat watching the sun slowly go down as night crept in. Nothing more needed to said. There was an understanding of "we are alike" in the air. Ryuketsu and Dabi had an undeniable similarities, neither know how but it was definitely there. Two very challenging childhoods grown into adults or almost an adult. They both knew the other was broken but unsure of how that came to be. All that could be done was filling the void with comfort.

"What if they actually make heroes out of us? You think rehabilitation is possible?" Ryu now turned to look at him while shooting her inquires to him.
He smirked then moved to face her as well. "After dropping as many bodies as we have. I highly doubt we'd be able to unlearn that. We murder for fun." He takes a long pause then continues. "As long as they believe we can change, we'll avoid max prison and get to live our lives as we wish."
Ryu was reminded of the plan. Act good for as long as it takes until they're released then the chaotic cycle will begin again. She was bred to be a killing machine anyways. What good would her quirk be without a murder or two or not even a severe injury? Gaslighting and lying would be their best bet to get out soon. Time to turn up the charm for the heroes.
