Isaac immediately rushed towards the location of the tentacles. He pushed and dodged people in his way, ran past a speeding car and multiple streets.
He heard a few people shout it was the end of the world or something. He paid them no mind and only focused on going towards Ina's location.
"Hey! I'm walkin' here!" a man shouted at Isaac after he pushed him away.
[She's right there... I can finally be with her!]
While running, he glanced at the huge tentacles regularly and the sight motivated him to run further and ignore his exhaustion.
After years of coping, he could be with his first love. Like alpha and omega, Isaac was sure that Ina was his first and last true love that he would ever experience in his life.
A treasure hunter never gives up when he knows that mountains of gold and gems are waiting for him at the end of his journey. Isaac similarly didn't want to give up. He desired the treasure. He wanted to be the sole owner.
He reached a nostalgic park, but didn't reminisce too much and instantly entered the woods.
While running, he tripped over a protruding root and fell down. When fervently getting up, he heard a growl. Lo and behold, a dog was baring its teeth in front Isaac. He stared at it ludicrously and groaned.
"This is too much nostalgia," he muttered to himself.
The dog cautiously walked around a still Isaac, then it literally turned tail and ran away from where it came from.
Isaac stood up and brushed himself off.
"I guess— not the time for jokes," he said, then remembered it was a dramatic moment for him.
He continued running and finally, he reached past a few bushes and saw her.
In the distance, he could clearly make out the standing figure of Ina staring at her hands. The Necronomicon was floating right beside her while the tentacles were slowly retracting back into her body.
Isaac's lips curled up, and he breathed heavily to try relieve some of his exhaustion.
He took slow steps towards her while staring at her back. With a deep breath, he lowered his jaw and shouted at her.
"Inaa!" he called out.
Ina's eyes widened in surprise and she whipped her head towards Isaac. Her lips parted in puzzlement after seeing him.
But alas, every form of negative and neutral emotion in her were washed away with happiness and relief. Poetically, their waves of emotions synced perfectly.
The words of Azathoth was true. Isaac saved her.
"Isaac!"
She turned around and began running towards him. The Necronomicon followed obediently, but then it opened to one of the pages.
Ina disappeared from her spot and appeared above Isaac. Her tentacles rushed back into her body and she gradually fell from gravity.
Isaac looked up and immediately opened his arms to catch her, a look of relief and joy etched onto his face. In that moment, a beautiful scene of reunion and pure joy could be seen.
Ina landed in Isaac's arms as he wrapped them around her back. He lost his footing and fell flat on his back.
"Ina.. Ina.." he said her name while caressing the back of her head. He tried holding back tears, but the gates were breached and they started flowing out slowly. One by one, the drops of tears stained his face.
As for Ina, she was biting her bottom lip and crying into the area between Isaac's shoulder and neck. She suffered no more pain, and was in Isaac's embrace, truly no more wishes were needed.
"Ina... I'm sorry... I'm sorry..." he muttered apologies into her ear with a soft and apologetic voice.
"Me too... I apologize for everything... So please, don't leave me again. And I'm sorry for leaving you in that forest..." she said, similarly apologetic.
They stayed like that for a few moments, before they heard the sounds of a helicopter flying towards them.
Isaac sat up with Ina still in his arms and looked up towards the flying vehicle.
"What should we do? They saw your tentacles," Isaac asked.
Ina wordlessly turned her head towards the helicopter and then waved her fingers.
The floating Necronomicon opened up and a bubble enveloped both of them.
Time began reversing. The date was reverted to the night when Isaac met Cthulu.
The duo in the bubble was unaffected by the time manipulation and Isaac stared in amazement as the sun quickly moved away from his vision, then the moon replaced it. It was now night, a sky with almost no stars towered over everything on earth.
"Woah... that was cool," Isaac smiled and chuckled softly.
Ina looked at him and laughed along with him. The bubble disappeared, along with the book.
"You're okay now, right?" Isaac asked in concern.
"Yes. All thanks to you," she responded with a bright smile.
The moonlight shined on them while the wind blew their hair. The atmosphere became serene and peaceful as the two stared into each other's eyes.
His blue orbs met her bluish dark purple pupils. Their heart beat were equally calm, while the winds grew in intensity.
In the woeful stream of universal time, Isaac realized. Not once had he forgotten. Not twice did he hate. Always, forever, past and future.
Mayhap an unnatural occurrence in the string, fabric and river of the universe caused a tear in the common state of causality.
In short; Isaac was blinded, yet remembered.
"Wanna go home?" Isaac offered to the lovely lady in front of him.
"Yeah," she replied.
