third-person povcheong-san smiles up at the group, eyes trained on his victim. he had been watching the unknowing man for weeks now. he was tall, well-built, and so fucking annoying. he feigns an innocent giggle as arms wrap around him.
"we really should get going to dinner before we miss our reservation," su-hyeok joyfully chuckles. he bids his subordinates goodbye as he escorts his husband out of the office. the two had been married for 9 years, briefly before su-hyeok had earned the ranking of supervisory special agent lee su-hyeok.
cheong-san wasn't a fool. he knew his husband was nothing far from handsome. brooding eyes, a heart of gold, and that smug fucking grin he had when he caught yet another criminal. it didn't help that he was amazing at his job, with a success rate higher than previous unit chiefs.
with that came the thirsty little foxes that try and chat up su-hyeok at any given opportunity, even when cheong-san was around. he found it particularly amusing watching the acts, reeking of desperation, knowing that his husband would easily fall to his feet with a simple call of his name. how precious.
"isn't the sky just beautiful tonight babe," cheong-san mutters from his seat, su-hyeok's eyes briefly look away from the road to admire the night view, responding with a soft sound of agreement. cheong-san had offered to drive after dinner, knowing his husband had been working so hard on a current ongoing case but being the sweetheart his husband was, he refused the offer.
please love you just came back from a 20-hour shift, are you crazy? of course, i'm driving!
cheong-san was a general surgeon. despite both their crazy working hours, over time they managed to find a nice balance in their current dynamic. besides, the time apart gave cheong-san enough time to plan and execute. it helps that su-hyeok's working hours turned him into a heavy sleeper.
at the beginning of their relationship, su-hyeok was adamant about not revealing any details of their cases to cheong-san but nearly twenty years later, cheong-san was almost close to duck-tapping his mouth shut with how much su-hyeok tells him at home. something burns deep in his gut at the near joy su-hyeok emits as he spills graphic details of certain cases.
and now as he aimlessly talks about one of their infamous long-term cases, cheong-san practically beams at the idea of his husband near boasting about another victim, especially one that he personally gives him.
🍃
it had started months ago, a new agent joined su-hyeok's unit. god, he couldn't have been more annoying. while cheong-san would never involve personal reasons in his killings, he may just start now.
and he did. the final straw had been when the agent confessed to su-hyeok, even asking him to consider his feelings despite knowing su-hyeok was a taken man.
cheong-san only barely managed to maintain a level-headed reaction when su-hyeok had told him. he knew the agent was surprised as well when cheong-san had come to visit the team, the way he tensed up like a baby deer in headlights as cheong-san's beaming smile came into the office bearing food for them.
