Prologue: ???

I take a large gulp of my now cold coffee. Bitter. It's been there all day. Fuck where's the one I bought an hour ago. A quick glance around my car and I realize I left it on the roof of my car while filling it with petrol. I don't get the luxury of an electric car sadly. "Day old cold coffee it is," I mutter careful not to wake Xanthar up. He's curled in a ball on the seat next to mine. He was supposed to be reading the map, but it's now 2am. It makes sense he fell asleep. At least he gets the luxury of sleep. I'm not so lucky. We need to get to the stupid seaside town quickly. A books been delivered to a book shop there, I can't let them get their hands on it. It would be a disaster for me and those like me, I'm not sure how many of us are left. Doesn't matter really. I'm left. Self preservation is a top priority, well that and taking care of Xanthar. If I die, he gets stuck in whatever form he's in, no magic, just a normal human or a normal cat. They'd kill him either way. He knows to much, just like me. I glance at the map, we're not even close. This is going to be a long night. Well day technically.

Prologue: Luna

Finally, peace at last. Right tomorrow there's a delivery of books and flowers. Zero will drop of the coffee and food. Looks like there's no delays, that means everything is in order for my little bookshop. It's a bit more that just a bookshop, I don't mind the extra work. My little bookshop, café and flower shop. It's small, but it's mine. A smile keeps on my face. I put my jacket on, turn off all the lights and lock the door behind me. A little jump in my step as I walk towards my little maisonette. It's right by the beach. In fact my doorstep is the beach. "Good evening Mr Corel. How's your wife?"
"Oh she's doing splendid Luna. She says she'll come by the bookshop tomorrow for a nice cupper and book,"
"I look forward to seeing her, tell her I said hi,"
I continue my walk saying hello's and good evening. When I get to the sea front I take off my shoes and walk along the sand. A few dog walkers go by. Unlocking my door I place my shoes on the shoes rack and jacket on one of the hangers. Stretching my arms I place my flower crown on the table by the shoe rack. Making my way to the kitchen I put the kettle on and snip some lavender off of its stem to make lavender tea. After getting my lavender tea and eating my dinner that I prepared before I left this morning I make my way up the stairs to the top floor of my maisonette. I find my usual spot of my window, open it and sit with my legs hanging out. Tomorrow's going to be a good day, I can feel it.
