The blonde watched as you drew a shaky breath and Giratina's claws stopped mere inches from your face. He was shocked by his own reaction, left staring, trembling in an indescribable terror as he only just realized his slightly hunched form and felt his own desperate expression. His hands went from stretched out in front of him, elbows bent with clawed fingers and open palms facing the sky to one hand gently caressing the side of his own frantic face. He could feel a steady stream of tears emerging from his tear ducts, a wet trail which connected with his fingertips and ran along his cheek. One which he didn't really know was there. "G-good, now come here." He hesitated as the practical deity looked over its shoulder, clearly annoyed and irritated at the man's sudden change of heart.
As the eldritch mon was recalled to his side, all he could do was wonder why. Why had he done it? Why had he stopped the creature from cutting you down? At first, he honestly did not know.
You were Arceus's chosen, the one sent by Hisui's deity to get in his way and stop him from making a new and better world. One without suffering, one without pain, hardships, or strife. It wasn't that he wanted to become a god, he just wanted to make a better tomorrow and he didn't trust anyone else to make that dream a reality. So why? Why had he stopped himself from removing the one thing that had been in his way? After all, he didn't need you now that he had the plates.
He took a moment to glance your way, his eyes flickering towards you with great intensity, shimmering in confusion as you slowly lowered your arms. Your gaze met his for a moment, staring back into his stormy orbs while your own glinted in inquiry, your expression now one of calm surprise as his breath hitched and quickened. No, you were just as confused as him about his actions. After all, not much time had passed since he ordered Giratina to strike you down. His eyes wandered your frame, desperately searching for an answer as they traveled your body with narrow eyes, wandering slightly to sweep the ground in front of him before returning to your shaky figure.
Then it hit him, all those memories with you at his side. Adventuring the many lands and ruins of Hisui. He recalled so many things at once, from the beginning of his journey with you to the time you spent traveling by his side.
