"Yellow Jacket, are you almost ready?"

"I'm coming, FMG.. gosh you can get so impatient sometimes.."

"You've been looking for your sunglasses for over five minutes now and it's not even sunny outside.."

I glanced out the window to see a foggy, gray-blue sky with splotches of dark gray. As I looked more towards the right, it was a light cornflower blue, slowly being taken over by the darkness of the rain clouds. I had my window open, and a gust of wind flowed into my room, swirling around me and the branches of the twin trees outside the window. They calmly swayed back and forth with the breeze, still managing to be holding a blackbird on one branch and a cardinal on another.

Wish I was that reliable..

"You too, Rainbow."

"What?"

"Hurry up, we're going to be late. You know how Vamp and Choco get. Also, I wanna leave before the rain starts."

Their conversation was blurred in my head. I checked my nightstand and the drawers of it once again, and after six straight minutes, I had finally found my sunglasses underneath my pillow. I swiftly slipped the special sun-shields on, and walked through the doorway over to my two roommates. Meme had first offered his, but I said it was fine. I couldn't have used them anyways. My sunglasses were a special kind used specially to help with my specific curse.

"Socks, hurry up.. Blaza found his glasses."

"I know, I know.."

An impatient Meme tapped his foot against the navy blue carpet, going along with his cyan hoodie and navy jogging pants. Socks, who we playfully called Rainbow because of his rainbow socks, was sitting on the couch struggling to slip them onto his feet. He wore a plain orange shirt with a gray zip-up jacket, along with some jeans and, as mentioned, rainbow socks that nearly ran all the way up his legs.

He had wondered if he should've got bigger ones for the sake of humor, so that they met the middle of his thighs. I still remember the conversation:

"Should I get some socks that are a bit longer?"

"Why would you do that again?"

"For fun..?"

"Do they even make socks that long?"

It turned out that Amazon sold them for ten bucks, which was even cheaper than Walmart, which was twenty. So he got them, as I expected, but now he can't even get them on his own feet. The sleep-deprived, impatient medical student waited for about three more minutes before Socks had finally gotten the stockings on over his jeans. He stood up and passed Meme as he walked to the door, who was had snapped back awake after Socks walked past. I pointed out,

"Socks, do you want to put some shoes on?"

"How am I supposed to slide across the floors at their house with shoes on?"

I stifled some laughter and followed Socks to the door, and Meme sluggishly followed behind. I remarked,

"You realize it could rain, right?"

"Eh, they're only a few blocks away. Even if it does, I can run."

Meme butted in,

"I wouldn't be able to keep up with your energy,"

Socks opened the door, allowing the humid April air to flood in and rush the breathable, brisk air away and into the house behind us. Before I could even talk, Socks had already ran out the door and to the sidewalk. Meme chuckled, but followed Socks to the sidewalk. Once I got with the other two, we started walking to the right towards our friend's house.

About halfway through, I felt a drop of water on my hoodie. This was followed by Socks starting to run to our destination, leading Meme to shout,

"Hey, wait up!"

I followed and ran up to Socks, grabbing and lifting up Meme in the process. After I was in the lead, I put the five-foot-four medical-man back down so he could run for himself. Socks laughed,

"Don't go so fast you miss the house!"

Just as he said that, he stopped. We all turned at the same time, Meme and me looked at Socks while Socks looked at the house. He grinned,

"I guess I'm winning!"

Raindrops steadily increasing, the two of us in the rain dashed to the stairs of the house. Socks had walked to the door by the time we got there. A gust of humid wind ruffled my hair, sending raindrops splashing on my face like bullets.

Socks didn't even need to ring the doorbell for the door to open. Two friendly smiles greeted us. I greeted back,

"Long time no see, huh, Nadwe and Muffin?"
