facts and headcannon!(less headcannon for now however)

headcannon: there are different dragon tribes that might have religions. skywings bring dead skywings to the highest part of the kingdom and leave them there for several days in hopes their spirit to be reborn in a skywing dragonet, hivewings and silkwings both hold Clearsight to a deified level for her propathetic power(the same power the hivewings tried to exploit thanks to queen Wasp).

fact 1: originally, Coastwings were going to be called "Raptorwings". though i have used that name for another tribe related to them.

fact 2. coastwings have 3 languages. "common speak"(English), "soul speak (Japanese/Italian) and "sea speak" (also known as "soul song" by coastwings). "sea speak"(as the other tribes call it) will sound hauntingly beautiful under water, above water.... it's terrifying.

fact 3. back in book 1, we do indeed get to see Goji. but for this book, he's around Cliff, Auklet and Bumblebee's age. he still retains the royal gold head crest from his dad.

fact 4. when serpentwings first heard coastwing dragonets above water, they originally thought it was spirits of a tribe they wiped out and did the one thing any reasonable creature would do...

fact 5. the underground city the runaways lived in for a time was the old city that the humans we saw in a few chapters lived in long ago.

fact 6. the reason why Red avoids hearing about the visions Blackice has, is because of the "gift of paths" he has. he already feels like he has so little control over his life as is, anymore and he'd no longer find meaning in life.

fact 7. i do plan to add in a mudwing/nightwing crossbreed with a scroll.

fact 8. so far we have seen 2 animus touched scrolls and an animus given gift. all 3 have a true form, the scroll of death is a Darkstalker sized beetlewing skeleton wrapped within shadow. Truth's true form is large enough to force Darkstalker to look up, this being that the world of his scroll contains the countless deals made, how they were paid in, who made the deal and what tribe(s) they are from. the true form for the gift of paths seems to be a mudwing/icewing mix with large branching antler like horns to symbolize the many ways someone's day could go. shockingly enough, Paths is the smallest of his brothers. Truth can only be seen when someone wants to make a deal, Skull can only be seen by his victims as an ethereal being only visible to them and Paths will only pull the host to him if they defy fate to often.
