You wandered the halls lost with your arms crossed, you'd gotten to know Stark Tower over the past few weeks enough to wander around. However, you found yourself climbing the walls, working for nearly ten years straight then being told 'You don't need to do anything, just stay here and be safe' sounds nice at first, then theres the not doing anything-which is maddening. You stretched your arms up, stopping as you approached a conference room with people filing out of it. You stopped, smiling politely at the people until Pepper stepped out with a sigh "That could have gone better," she murmured, pinching the bridge of her nose. She turned, smiling at you "Oh hey, everything okay?" she asked, you scoffed "Took the words out of my mouth," you said, glancing in the room.
You spotted the graphs she had up and winced "Down fourteen points in ten days?" you asked, she blinked and crossed her arms "Yeah, our stocks have become less about ho much we profit and more about how well Tony fights" she said with a sigh. You shrugged "I thought this was your company?" you asked, and she nodded "It is," she said, you gestured inside "Then remind them, don't take any of that shit, look-You've got plenty of resources in marketing, for what? You could use that towards recoupment, let the way you recover from the incidents speak for themselves. Get some hipsters with phones to do the reporting while you guys work on doing some real good." you said.
Pepper smiled slowly, tilting her head "What did you do in your reality?" she asked, you shrugged "I ran the largest bank in England and what was soon to be Ireland before... You know?" you said. She hissed a little "Yeah I get that... Coffee?" "Jesus Christ yes," you said, stepping into the room she gestured in.
"Maybe a cup for some tips on how I can make some room in the budget for Tony's new suit?"
"Might as well, I'll need to budget for Mine and the baby's life needs."
Two Years Later
You leaned back in your chair, holding up the wine glass, your sleek office was similar to your old one but instead of a bar, there was a crib. Tony, a slow but surefire friend over the time, especially with your assistance in bringing his company above board and projecting fantastically. Stark slowly walked over to his seat, sliding without spilling the scotch in his hand "Stark if I didn't know better I'd say you were trying to woo me, "you said, crossing your legs and arms. Tony scoffed "We're both happily taken what good would that do?" he asks, gesturing to you "I'm clearly about to ask you a favor" you snickered softly. He cleared his throat and stood "I need help getting a settlement started in Norway, theres some refugees dislocated from an attack." he said.
Your eyes hooded as you leaned forward "Oh no, the attack in Bolivia?" you asked, he shook his head "NO no, we've hosted a relief center there, this is actually an act of interplanetary sanctuary," he said. You widened your eyes "Interplanetary Sanctuary... And they can be trusted?" you asked, standing up, he nodded "Their leader is a trusted friend, I couldn't do it otherwise," he said. You sighed happily "Tony, this is huge are you sure you want me at the head of it?" you asked, sipping your drink as soft cooing filled the room.
You sipped your wine and walked over "Hello my loves" you cooed quietly, the twins smiled as you came into view "I'm pretty sure if I sent anyone but you to greet them I'd get a snake in my bed" he murmured. You arched a brow while adjusting Falne's pacifier "What does that even mean?" you asked as he stood "THere isn't anyone else I trust with something like that, I want you and the twins out there when they touch down, it's gonna be a bit." He said. You tilted your head "Really so long?" You asked, looking over at Oliver who kept trying to steal Falne's pacifier.
You nudged them apart as Tony walked over "Yeah, I'm sorry it's so last minute, but you'll just be overseeing, think of it as a nice vacation." He said. You sighed and nodded "Alright, I can do this, I just need to move some things around." You said. Tony watched the two "It's weird how Falne looks so much like him." He said. You smiled and nodded "Hair, eyes, and all." You said, playing with the two before the inevitable panic of travel.
