Temptation is everywhere. Walking down the street seeing humans, knowing there is fresh, warm, blood running through their veins.
I try to ignore the urge to rip someone's throat out. Just as I turn the corner I see a girl, she looks small, so she probably wouldn't fight back too much. She looks like the type to cry and beg me to let her go, telling me she wouldn't tell anyone. I haven't had fresh blood in a while. I ponder to myself if it is against my morals to lie to her then devour her, the answer is no. I start towards her, she looks around behind her, as if she knows I'm there. She quickly walks into the small town coffee shop. I wait a little bit before I walk in. I immediately find her. Sipping tea while reading a book. Looks like she won't get to the end of it, such a shame. I watched her for a moment before going towards her. She looks up at me.
"Um, can I help you?"
I breathe in heavily before speaking.
" Um yea, I just noticed you were reading The Call Of the Wild, great book. Read it at least a hundred times London is great. " I say, trying to spark up conversation.
She seems surprised, but she smiles and nods.
"So you like classic literature?"
"Actually I do, but Mr. London especially his books are captivating." I Smile.
"They truly are." She starts off. "What other books do you like to read?"
" Oh, well I love Jade Austen, Avi, and of course the one and only, Robert Frost."
"Wow, I must say I'm impressed. I wasn't expecting this at all." She smiles, again.
" I'm usually not what people expect." I say, meaning it.
After spending at least an hour or two talking to her about books, I almost regret plotting to drain her body of blood. I'll get over it, I've done it before.
We start to walk out and I ask
"Would you like to come back to my place to see my collection?" I add a smile to seem more sincere. She laughed.
"Right, your 'collection' okay um, I'm gonna say no. But since I kinda like you I'll give you my phone number. Okay?" She quickly rips a corner off some paper and she scribbles her number down and hands it to me.
"Thanks." I mumble.
"Aw don't be a pouty pants, Liam. maybe some other time." She smiles turning around.
"Wait!" I call, getting her attention she turns around.
"What." She huffs.
I go up to her, looking her in the eyes.
"You're gonna come to my apartment without any struggle what so ever." I say compelling her. I grab her arm.
"Hey no! Just because you said it like that doesn't mean I'll go !" she screams.
"Wait what? You're not going to do what I say?" I say, confused on why my powers didn't work on her.
"What? No of course I'm not gonna go just because you said. The world doesn't revolve around you!"
"I'm sorry." I say turning around starting to walk away. as soon as I do, I hear a crash.
