Mirabel was making ear muffs for her cousin Dolores as she always talked about how loud everything was. She went to her closet making as little noise as possible as Antonio was still asleep. Who wouldn't be asleep at 5:30 AM besides Mirabel. She grabbed some red and yellow thread without noticing a spider that was weirdly glowing on it until it bit her. "Ow." she whispered and killed the spider not knowing what it did to her DNA. Shrugging it off she continued to work until she noticed her new abilities and decided to test them out. (I will make a chapter about her abilities) She practiced until she mastered them all quietly and continued to finish the earmuffs.

"Mamá?" a little voice called for her. "Yes Antonio? What's wrong?" Mirabel asked. "How'd you know something was wrong?" "You only call me 'mamá' when something's wrong." "Oh." "What's wrong?" "I had a nightmare." "What was it about?" she asked picking him up and sitting down to continue working. "Everyone hated me for not having a gift even you." "Toñito what happens today, gift or no gift, I'll still love you." "Really?" "Yes."

After the conversation Antonio fell asleep. 'Wow. They were right. Kids and babies do fall asleep listening to the heartbeat of their parents' Mirabel thought.

30 minutes later

Antonio woke up feeling better and Mirabel finished the earmuffs looking like she hadn't slept in years. She woke the entire family up for breakfast. "Mira hija are you ok? You look like haven't slept all night." Mirabel went up to Dolores and handed her the earmuffs before replying. "I haven't slept all night. I've been up making Dolores' earmuffs since 12 AM *yawn*. It takes 2 hours and 30 minutes of planning and 3 hours and 30 minutes of sewing." "Once you finish eating go to sleep ok hija." "Ok." Just like she said Mirabel went to sleep.

5 hours later

Mirabel woke up feeling refreshed after her nap. She got dressed and went downstairs to see everyone setting up for Antonio's ceremony. Making her way to the kitchen Mirabel saw her mother feeding her father an arepa after getting bee stings. "Holá mamá. Holá papá." she greeted. Julieta and Agustín looked at her smiling. "Holá Mira glad to see your up and ready." Agustín said as Julieta nodded and added, "Next time don't overwork yourself ok it's not good if you do." Mirabel smiled at this. Then went to hug her parents. "I promise I won't. Dolores told me how things can be overwhelming for her and the only time she gets peace is in her room so I made the earmuffs for her."

Hours later

Antonio stood where he was. Nervousness filled his stomach. He looked behind the curtains to see Mirabel. Holding out his hand he looked at her with pleading eyes. "I can't." Mirabel said. "I need you." Antonio said. Mirabel sighed and walked out grabbing his hand. All eyes were on them. Whispers of disgust and pity were heard by Mirabel. "Let's get you to your door." she said before walking with Antonio to his door.

When Antonio touched the door knob a toucan flew on his arm. "Uhuh. I understand you. Of course they can come." Antonio said before different kinds of animals came. His door had a picture of  him with different kinds of animals around him. His room was a jungle.

The Madrigals lined up for a picture leaving out Mirabel. Taking this as a chance to leave, Mirabel left to the nursery changed her clothes and put on her binder. Grabbing a bag she had already packed and some money to get her on a plane to NYC she left the Casita without a single sound being made.

When she got NYC

Mirabel walked around the streets of New York looking for some water. An old injury she had gotten a few months ago from being bullied had reopened. She was lost in thought about where water could be at she bumped into someone. "Oh I'm sorry." Mirabel apologized. "No it's my fault. I'm Emma Jones. What's you name." Emma asked. "Mirabel. I go by Michael or Miguel. You can call me Michael though." Michael said. "Non-binary or trans?" Emma asked. "I'm a girl but I've always wanted to be a male. Only two of my cousins know about it. Oh! Do you know where I can find water so I can clean a wound a got a few months ago on my arm."

Emma looked at the wound and was shocked instantly her parent side came out. "That's a bad wound. You need to see a doctor at the hospital fast." With that said Emma grabbed Michael's other arm and took him to a hospital. On the way there Emma told Michael she could pay for the surgery so he could officially be a male.

What the wound looks like pretend it's bleeding

Doctor Ramirez looked at the gash that was bleeding badly. She grabbed gauze and bandages quickly cleaning the wound and dressing it before putting the arm in a sling. "Come to me in two weeks so I can take the sling off and stitch the wound up. Make sure to change the bandages daily so your wound doesn't get infected. Don't sleep on that arm until it's fully healed to avoid causing more damage to it. Once your healed up come to me for the surgery so you can make the switch." Doctor Ramirez explained getting nods from both Michael and Emma.

When they left Michael realized he had no place to stay. Noticing his distress Emma asked, "Wanna live with me and my family? I can adopt you and my quadruplets can have an older brother since they're only 12. They need a sibling they can look up to." Taking this as a chance to leave everything behind Michael agreed and took the last name of Jones.

The family was very happy to have a new addition. Julian, Jason, Jackson and Amber were happy to have an older brother while John was happy to have another son. Michael got settled in very quickly before getting news that he was going to school come Monday. Since it was Friday and the weekend had started already.

Back at the Encanto the next day after Antonio's ceremony

Everyone woke up at 7 AM instead of the usual 6 AM they were so used to waking up at. Mirabel normally wakes them up but this time it seemed different. Dolores woke up to a note next to her bed. She read it and realized that was why they woke up late. Camilo had the same note next to him and he read it. He was glad that Michael left this toxic home but sad that his favorite cousin isn't there to play with him.

When the family got to breakfast Dolores looked at Camilo who looked back at her. Seeming to have the same thought they kept silent until Antonio pointed it out. "Where's Mira?" "She probably slept in considering how hard last night was for her." Julieta said. "I'll go get her." Luisa said before getting up and leaving to wake up Mirabel. Luisa knocked on the door to the nursery. Nothing happened. She knocked again. Still nothing. She opened the door and was met with nothing. The nursery looked like only Antonio had ever lived in it. Luisa came downstairs with a panicked expression saying, "Mirabel isn't in her room."

This shocked everyone except Camilo and Dolores but they pretended to be shocked. "Dolores can you hear where Mirabel is?" Julieta asked worried for her daughter's whereabouts. Dolores listened but couldn't hear Mirabel's breathing and heartbeat. She shook her head no signaling that she can't hear Mirabel.

Breakfast finished and everyone left to do their chores and find Mirabel. Camilo and Dolores went with each other to talk. "What name do you think he's using wherever he is?" she asked her brother. "Depending on where he went Miguel." Camilo responded. "So you can't hear him?" he asked his sister. "No. He's far from Encanto." Dolores said. "We'll wherever he is I hope he's living a life better than the one he lived before." Camilo said.
