Chapter Ten;

Greed

Stepping out of the room I let out a breath I didn't realise I had been holding, when I had heard her voice on the phone the fear I couldn't even begin to describe the emotions that ran through me. When the bang and screeching of tyres filled the clubhouse I was the first to my feet and out of the door, and when I saw her car spinning I felt like my heart pretty much left my body. Knowing that she was okay just in shock I breathed a sigh of relief however I also felt anger towards her arsehole of an ex and myself and the club would make him pay for even trying to come within an inch of her life. Pulling my phone from my pocket I click on Bear's number and shoot him a quick text asking him to bring Aidan and Millie to the clubhouse, that Drea needed him.

Heading in the direction of Prides office I knock on the door and hear his gruff voice, stepping inside I watch as he glances up from the paperwork on his desk. "How is she?" he says as I take the seat in front of his desk crossing my leg over my knee, "she's ok slight scratch to her forehead and in a bit of shock but nothing a good bit of rest won't cure" I utter as I clench my fist in anger. Watching Pride keep a close eye on me I reach up and pinch the bridge of my nose before looking him dead in the eye, "the hit came from her ex, she opened up to me and she believes that he was the one who sent the hitman" I watch as Pride clenches his fist against the top of the desk before muttering under his breath "son of a bitch".

"What's the plan boss?" I ask as I vow from now on to not let Drea anywhere out of my line of sight, "I think it is best if we bring the girls here that includes Millie until we know exactly where and what her fucked up ex is up to" nodding my head I move to stand up and head back out to the common room to wait on Bear when his voice stops me. "You care about her don't you?" turning towards him I nod as he watches me carefully, "her having a son doesn't bother you?" I let out a low growl at which he gives me a firm look quick to remind me who I am in front of. "No of course not, he is apart of her and therefore I will accept them both but right now a relationship isn't what Drea and I should be focusing on, we need to be focusing on getting rid of her ex" I mutter before moving out of the room.

Heading to the common room I step towards the bar and ask for a whiskey from the prospect currently manning it, after taking the tumbler from him I move to the booth I usually occupy and as I take a seat I glance around the common room only for Selena one of the biker bunnies to catch my eye and start to sway her hips as she heads in my direction. "Hey there handsome, you look a little tense" she says trying to sound seductive yet her voice is enough to cause me a damn headache, letting out a low growl I look up at her "i'm not in the mood Selena, go find another willing brother I am sure there's plenty" my voice comes out menacingly low as I watch her huff before she storms off in Wraths direction. Just as I am about to pick up the tumbler again I hear the clubhouse doors swing open, glancing in that direction I spot Bear, Millie and a little boy who could be no more than 2 years old walking into the clubhouse.

After spotting me Millie flashes me a worried look before heading in my direction, "what happened? why did we have to bring Aidan here is Drea okay?" she rattles of quickly until Bear places a hand on her shoulder gently telling her to back down and take a seat. Watching as she slides into the seat opposite she pulls the little boy onto her lap as he looks around the clubhouse with interest before his blue eyes land on me, giving him a soft smile I glance towards Millie. "How much has Drea told you of her past?" I utter as I reach for my whiskey taking a big sip, watching her shake her head in confusion I know that they haven't shared much yet. Biting my lip I wonder how I am going to word this without giving too much away before Drea has had a chance to explain.
