Isn't the irony of a single red rose beautiful?

With its color so crimson blood, such a beauty to the eye, yet when held carelessly, it has its own way of wounding you. The thorns it holds, demanding you to learn to understand its nature. Such beauty was never meant to be held, let alone loved. Yet it only makes them want it more. People always have desires for something that they can not have. Somehow, they found a way to twists the story so sick but so good.. now roses, especially red, are the symbol of affection.

When you were losing hope in life, you see things for granted and that sense of fading hope makes you yearn for more in life. When you had been waiting in a dark place for what felt like an eternity, a little stray of light might overwhelm you. It would blind you and you would think that that was a sign. So naively, you followed it, hoping that you would see brighter light ahead.

You would never know that this stranger standing in from of you would someday be the most important person in your life.

--

When it happened, I remember it vividly. It didn't mean anything at that time, as for the nineteen-year-old Kemelia, It was just another day working in her father's flower shop. She should have praised herself that day for keeping it together when just how the night before, she spent the time crying herself to sleep. She clearly needed help, but her family was conservative. She thought maybe it was best to just hide it. Although she would smile back when you talk to her, look into her eyes deeper, and you would see how exhausted she was.

"Lia.."

"Lia.."

"Kamelia!" For the third time, her father finally shouted to her.

It caught her off guard as she had been locking her eyes to the bucket of red roses in front of her for the last 5 minutes. She must have been daydreaming again.

"There's a customer coming" Slightly irritated, her father whispered to her from behind to counter.

"Oh..right" she muttered back to herself and tried her best to concentrate. She walked towards the stranger who just entered the shop as she prepared her tablet for the price list. It did not take long for her to realize who the man standing in the shop was, he is Ren Ikeda.

It was hard for her to not know him because of how famous he is. Ren Ikeda is the future heir of  Ikeda Group, the mega-conglomerate in Indonesia. She thought to herself, even when she did not recognize him, she would have guessed that he is someone important, considering his appearance. His tall figure, guessing he is around 180cm, is clothed in an expensive-looking suit with his black hair slicked back. He stood so poised, he looked like some kind of royalty. Though she did not know much about him, it still made her nervous as he was actually the first celebrity she ever served for.

As she walked closer to him, the more anxious she became. Trying her best to stay calm, she held her tablet even tighter with each step she took, it almost cracked the screen. Her anxiety disorder surely did not help make the situation any better.

"M..May I help you with anything, Sir?" She stuttered a bit.

It took him a while to answer as he scanned around looking at each flower in the room. She tried to be professional but the long pause made her uneasy, so she started looking down. She was about to walk away and let the man be when she finally heard him start talking.

"Do you take credit cards?" He replied with his deep raspy voice. So, that's how he sounds like, she could not help but think.

"Yes," She replied while still trying to avoid eye contact.

"I'm going to take all of your fresh flowers and I want you to deliver them to this address by tomorrow" He immediately replied while handing her a credit card and a note from the inside of his suit.

Not quite sure it was confusion or disbelief, she spontaneously looked up at him and her eyes widen. "E..everything, sir?" She replied as she took the note from his hand.

"Yeah, but just the fresh ones" He answered assertively, it made her throat dry.

This order was one of the biggest purchases the shop ever made in a day and considering that this order was just from this man alone, shocked her. She quickly walked back to her father who definitely heard the entire conversation, judging by his face that looked just as surprised as she was.

"You know who he is, right?" Her father whispered as she handed the credit card to him.

"Shh.. who doesn't!" she hushed him trying not the embarrass themselves.

She then continued to process the order, which took quite a while considering, while her father kept trying so hard to make the man more and more comfortable. First, it was a sofa from their storeroom, then it was her soda she planned to drink later, and then it was her father's excited grin which was honestly kinda creepy. They never did such hospitality for any other customer, but yet again they never had such purchased from any other customer. His actions started to become progressively embarrassing that she did not want to look.

At one point she asked the man if he wanted any personal card for the flowers. It did not take long for him this time to answer, "Write anything, I trust you" slightly arrogant, he answered as if he does not care and continued to look back at his phone.

When it was time for the man to pay, he did not even look at the numbers and just entered the pins without hesitation. The number was not small, it reached close to fifty million, considering that today is Monday and the shop stocks new fresh flowers every this day. This moment alone amazed her and it made her realize just how crazy rich he must be.

After everything was set for, he then exits our shop and a loud noise could later be heard from outside the shop. A dark blue Maserati then was seen passing from the window. The noise once again blew her away. Ren Ikeda was definitely something else.
