Phil was standing once again in that room, murder of crows cawing and flapping it's wings at his arrival. Kidnapers were quivering before him in fear, crying and pleading for their life, but Phil felt no empathy for them. People like them didn't deserve to live. Their essence was rotten to the core, black as an oil, disgusting. They were the sickness that needed to be weeded. But that could wait. He had all the time he wanted to hunt those monsters down and do his job.

He turned around, his heart freezing upon this sight.

His sons were trembling, tears running down their terrified fasces. Of course... the ghosts feared death... He also did, that was the true reason why he was bound to earth. To fix what he wasn't able to when he was alive. He remembered now. He remembered everything.

- Don't fear me, please- he whispered, kneeling before them and lowering his scythe.

- D-dad?- Wilbur asked in disbelief, catching him in a tight hug after a second. His crying got louder as he tugged his robe, laughing through tears.- I... thought...-

- We thought we lost you...- Techno smiled, being pulled into a hug.- But... how... How are you the Death?-

- It's a long story that I will tell you at the right time. Now, where are the boys?-

- We're here- a weak voice answered, making Phil's heart trumble once again. Tommy and Tubbo were sitting under the wall, their faces covered with hardened blood, eyes half closed. Tubbo had the right side of his face badly burned and Tommy had a slash coming through his left eye. But despite injuries they were smiling at the angel, happy and relieved to see him again. Phil hugged them, feeling the anger rising within him. How dare they hurt his boys this way. How dare they make them suffer. They were little rays of sunshine, always happy, always smiling despite being so badly hurt, broken on so many levels.

- We thought that we would never see you again- Tommy whispered, burying his face in his uncle's feathers, feeling of safety washing through him. Phil was fine, everything is going to be alright. They'll be together again, all five of them.

- Last fire wasn't able to get rid of me for good, why would this one?- he tried to chuckle, but nothing would come out of his throat that was tightened with fury. Why are they concerned with him when right now they're in a lot of pain?

- Dad... you're... kinda... glowing, but black- Phil wanted to be surprised, but he couldn't feel any other emotion than rage. He was burning with it, fire coursing through his veins.

– Uncle...?-

– Give me a second, boys, I need to take care of something- rage was humming in his ears, he barely had any control over what he was doing. He had no idea if it was because he was furious or due to his new status. Maybe both, but it would be a long time before he's meant to find out. Because for now he had some scores to settle.

Men were quivering in fear, their faces pale, eyes open wide as they looked at the figure in front of them. A fearsome man, his expression unreadable, only the eyes, the icy cold eyes, filled with hatred gave any signs of life. They were terrifying, as if looking right into their souls, burning their minds, turning them into ashes. The creature stood between them and their hostages, wings spread protectively in front of the kids, hands shaking slightly as the grip on the scythe tightened.
