The choice she was about to make would change her entire life. What if she made the wrong decision? Would she fail in life? Would she die on the streets? This would change her life. "67." "Correct." Mrs. Brown said. Elizabeth sighed with relief. Mrs. Brown wrote the number on the board. Mrs. Brown was one of the meanest teacher, so Liz was glad she is on her good side. Liz was not the brightest kid in the school, but she always tried her best. She usually got help with her friends Sophia, Brianna and Olivia. They were much smarter than her. Anyway, Mrs. Brown continued her lesson.

"Tomorrow we had a test. You will have 30 minutes to finish, and if you don't, I will count the rest of the test wrong." See, I told you she was mean. All the kids groaned. They hated taking test. Liz sighed. To save everyone's sanity, the bell rang. Mrs. Brown rolled her eyes. Everyone hopped out of their seats and ran out the door. Liz grabbed her backpack and was the last one to walk out the door. She walked down the hallway with her head down the entire way. "Hello, Lizy." She turned to see her friend Olivia and Sophia. Both of them wore dark colored hoodies and jeans.

"Hey girls." Liz said. Olivia smiled and said, "You look a little down. Come on, it's Thursday. That means tomorrow is Friday." Olivia always did have a wonderful personally. "Yeah," Sophia said, "You seem tired. Is everything okay?" Liz shrugged. "I guess it is just that I am worried that I will never get anywhere in life." "Don't worry about that." Their other friend, Brianna, said after coming up to them. The whole school continued walking down the hall. Brianna, Sophia and Olivia all hung Liz. Liz smiled and said, "I love you guys." "Really, you care for them, but you don't care for your other friend?" A voice said from behind them.

"Hi, Elise." Liz said. Elise wore a light purple hoodie with pink shorts. Her hair was golden brown. "Elise, what do you want?" Olivia asked. Elise smiled and said, "Nothing, I just wanted to know why Liz cares more about her new friends rather than her old friend." Brianna and Sophia just nodded their heads. Olivia rolled her eyes and Liz said, "You were my best friend Elise, but sometimes friends just drift apart. Like you and Tyler." Elise blushed and said, "Me dating him was a mistake." Liz smiled and Olivia said, "We are in 10th grade. The men you date will go out for a little while. Some of them don't come back." Elise sighed, "I was about to tell you about a tale I heard. It is the puddle portal." Olivia looked at her and said, "She's crazy. Well bye." The girls walked off leaving Elise standing there. "She is going to regret leaving me."

Once they got out of the door, they all walked to their separate cars. Olivia walked to hers, Brianna walked to hers, and Liz walked with Sophia to her car. Before they got in their cars, Brianna called out, "We're going to Heaven's, right?" All the girls nodded. They got into their cars and drove off. Inside Sophia's car, Liz stared out the window while Sophia drove. Liz smiled and said, "Thanks for letting me live with you." Sophia smiled, "You've been living with me for thirteen years. Now you thank me?" Liz giggled and then frowned. Sophia grabbed her shoulder and smiled. "I'm sorry you were put in an orphanage. But if I can ask, did you know your parents?" Tears started to fill Liz's eyes. Sophia frowned. "I'm sorry. But I am going to assume that is a no." They continued driving down the road to downtown Atlanta.
