Liz woke up and gasped for air. She looked around and saw Brianna, Sophia and Olivia do the same. Liz got up and walked towards the others. "What happened?" she asked. Olivia got up and said, "I don't know. I know the puddle didn't actually work. Did it?" Sophia helped Brianna up. The looked around. Brianna gasped, "I think we are really in the puddle portal." Sophia jumped up and said, "That means I won the bet! Now give me my $25!" Olivia sighed and put her hand in her pocket. Surprisingly, there was nothing in her pockets. "Where is all my money?" Sophia checked her pockets. "Mine is gone too." Brianna hit them both in the head. "That is not important. What is important, is figuring out where we are."
"Well, I can tell you that." A voice said. The girls looked around. The spotted a tree that stood about three feet away from them. "Who are you?" Liz asked. A woman who was about a few inches taller than them, walked out from behind the tree. She had long, golden brown hair. Her hazel eyes sparkled in the lowering sunlight. She had ripped jeans and a blue t-shirt on. A golden necklace hung around her neck. "My name is Alexis. But you could just call me Lexie." Lexie's voice put the girls at ease but also had a sinister tone. "Where are we?" Sophia asked. Lexie smiled. "If it wasn't obvious by now," Lexie said, "You are in the puddle world." Sophia gasped and fainted. Lexie frowned and asked, "Is she going to be okay?" Liz looked at her and said, "She is never okay."
Once Sophia became conscious, they looked around the sky. "So," Liz asked, "We actually went through a flipping puddle?"
"Yep." Lexie said.
"Am I dead?" Olivia asked.
"No." Lexie said. "I know your in shock." Liz looked at her like she was crazy. "Of course we are in shock. How do we get back home?" Lexie smiled. "I may know someone who could help you get home." The girls all stared at her. "Who?" Brianna asked. Lexie smiled. "I could tell you, but I want to know if I can trust you." The girls stared at her, wanting to know what she meant. Lexie walked around the girls. "I only have one question." she said, "Who are your parents?" Liz looked at the ground. Lexie pointed at Sophia and asked, "What's your name and your parents names?" Sophia gulped and said, "I'm Sophia Smith and my mother is Kate and my father is Winston."
She pointed to Olivia and asked the same question. "My name is Olivia Alan, and my mom is Della while my father is Tim." She then asked Brianna. "I'm Brianna Johnson and my mom is Jaimie and my father is Conner." Finally, she pointed at Liz. Liz just looked at the ground. "Well, come on girl. I know you have a voice." Lexie said. Liz sighed. Lexie frowned, "You never knew your parents, did you?" Liz nodded. Lexie looked over at Sophia. "Is this true?" "Yeah, sadly." Sophia said.
Lexie walked over and gave Liz a hug. "I'm so sorry." They stood in silence before Lexie said, "Well, you passed the test." Olivia raised an eyebrow. "Follow me." Lexie said and started walking into the woods. The girls looked at each other. "Should we go?" Liz asked Brianna. "What other option do we have?" The girls ran after Lexie. Once they caught up, Lexie smiled and sarcastically said, "We are going to the most amazing person!" Her eye started twitching. "You okay?" Sophia asked. Lexie stopped and said, "I'm fine."
It was a long ways through the woods before Liz asked, "Okay, you are taking us into the middle of the woods in the morning. Where are we going?" Lexie smiled. She moved leaves out of the way to reveal a gate. Lexie pushed the gate opened and motioned for the girls to follow her. once they got passed the gate, they saw the biggest castle they've ever seen. Lexie smiled and said, "We are here to see the king."
