𝟏𝟎. 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬

"Stop checking your phone" Parker says, his British accent showing for the millionth time tonight, taking a large swing of whatever is in his cup. That hypocritical bastard has been checking his phone every ten seconds. "I was just checking if the tabloids have new bullshit to publish instead of..." I let the sentence drag on as Parker raises his eyebrows "Today? Ember? What is your deal with her anyway?". I pocket my phone "there is no deal" she's just the most annoying, aggravating, beautiful, totally out of everyone's league brat I have ever met. "Hmm" turning back towards the crowd of people, Parker once again looks towards the door as if expecting someone to walk in then looks back at his phone. Again. A hand snatches the phone away as I focus my gaze on a pissed off Theo "Hey! How dare you two leave me to deal with Scott on my own!". Parker chuckles as I simply shrug. Theo doesn't actually mind dealing with him. He is just playing. Theo smirks as little before his gaze falls onto the phone, seconds later Parker snatches it back, putting it away but not before Theo's eyebrows raise "why are you texting Athelia?" Wow. "You're texting Athelia? You two..." "what? No! We're not texting!" Parker exclaims in a whisper, looking around to see if any attention was brought unto us. We're safe. "He's texting her. She's leaving him on read" Theo says, smirking as he takes Parker's drink, tipping his head back as he lets the cool drink sip down his throat. "It's shit by the way" he says. I start laughing "you! Parker Miller! Left on read! Never thought I'd see the day" bringing my own drink up, I say "cheers" as Theo does the same, clinking the glass as we laugh "Bastards" Parker whispers into his drink "Athelia is a brat okay? New York it girls are all brats. Spoiled" He says but that can't be true if Ember went through all of that, spoiled my ass. "Maybe we should get to know them. You know, since we are forced to spend a year with them" Theo suggests, taking a slice of ham from a server as he walks by. "Just enough so that when we are doing an interview we know something more than just their names" he continues but i can't help but look at the glimmer behind his eye, telling me there is another reason for this. What, I don't question. "Fine. Whatever" Parker grumbles, taking yet another sip of his beverage as I nod at Theo, signalling it's a good idea. A phone sings as Parker goes to answer, putting the drink down on the table as he says to the phone "hello, love" and walks away.

"Shhh! You're gonna wake up the whole hotel!" Parker says as he holds up Theo from the right and I go for his left. Stepping out the elevator, we head down the hallway, shushing Theo as he continues to sing 'material girl' by Madonna. Parker covers his mouth with his hand "I swear to god Theo one more time and- ugh eww seriously?" Theo licked his hand.! Parker wipes his hand as I try to contain my laugh, miserably failing as Parker glares at me. Theo opens his mouth so say something or start singing again. Jesus please don't let that happen. The door interrupts, opening right to our left as a raven-haired girl slowly walks backwards, closing the door. She turns, noticing us and jumps "Jesus Christ what is wrong with all of you?" Ember exclaims, breathing hard. I do a quick assessment, my gaze going up and down her body as I make sure she's okay. Her hair is a bit messy, like she just rolled out of bed, wearing sweatpants and a white crop top. Looking a little deeper, she has dark circles under her eyes and some weird green shit stuck to her forehead. Theo goes to touch it but she smacks his hand away as he winced "ouch" "it's a face mask, dumbass" she hisses as Parker asks "why are you sneaking out?" She turns to him, her gaze dangerously narrow "Athelia and Naomi are sleeping". Parker's eyes hide a glimmer at a mention of Athelia as Theo's light up "Let's go visit Naomi!" He exclaims, heading for the door but Ember blocks him as Parker grabs him again "she's sleeping" I say, as Theo pouts. Why is he suddenly obsessed with Naomi? I swear they never even talked before "you can see her tomorrow. When you're not drunk off your ass" Parker whispers angrily, clearly losing patience as he says to me "Don't stay up too late. And use a condom" with that he winks at Ember, giving her a mock smile to which she responds with "pompous fool" as he leads Theo down the hall, disappearing behind the corner. I turn, noticing her already half down the other hall, leading to the elevator. She doesn't spare me a glance as she strolls into the elevator. I jog, barely making it in and giving her a pointed look, to which she just shrugs, looking like an innocent angel. Lies. We stand in silence, the elevator going down and down and down. Ember whips her head towards me, "what do you want?" I ignore the question, asking her one instead "where are you going?" She narrows her eyes, repeating her question, "I want to know where are you going?" She narrows her eyes even more, aggravated with this conversation as she simply says "on a walk" At 1 fucking am???? "Right now?" I ask, trying to stay calm as this women is makes it really hard right now. "Hmmm"she looks at everything instead of me as she nods. Just as the elevator's about to open, I press the stop button. The elevator stops mid-ride as Ember looks at me, surprised. I don't leave her time to say anything as I pull her to me, my patience ending, just as I did the first night I met her. I hold her my her hips, flashbacks of the night as I drop my lips to hers, really close to touching and whisper "did I do something?" She looks at me confused so I continue "then why are you pretending nothing happened between us" her lips quirk up as she cocks her head to the left, not breaking eye contact with me "there is no us. Nothing happened. It was just sex" she says, eyebrows raised and something in my chest hurts at her words. Shaking my head, I look into her eyes "it was the best fucking sex of my life and you know damn well you feel the same". Something flashes in her eyes and if I wasn't paying attention I would have missed it. "Don't get yourself confused. It was just sex. A one night stand. Nothing more." She hisses, her words finding their mark. I look at her, nodding I lean over to her ear, my lips generally grazing the shell "keep telling yourself that"
