The world was always different when she went on missions. She never knew if it was because of him, or if it was because of her, but it didn't matter. It was different and it was nice. The colors were bright and the ground was soft. Grass. He had told her. The grass was green, and the sky was blue.
"Sky?" She'd asked him once, her small fingers picking at the bottom of her coat. He pointed to the giant blue above them and she followed with her eyes. "Woah." She smiled, watching the clouds move slowly. "Pretty."
"Yes." He said, grabbing her tiny hand and pulling it away from the torn fabric. "Don't fidget." She looked down and nodded, apologizing softly before her attention was stolen again by another color or object that she had yet to learn.
It wasn't like that when she went alone. It was quiet and it was dull. She didn't go alone very often. The older she got, the more rules there were, and she got yelled at for every little thing she did.
"Don't speak!"
"Sit up!"
"Quiet!"
"Don't talk to him!"
"You're being a distraction!"She was honestly surprised they let her on this mission with him, but she supposed they didn't want her out on her own, and he needed help for this one. She looked up with her eyes as a skinny man fastened the dark mask to her face.
"держать его на." "Keep it on." He said, walking away without another word. She looked down at her hands, not daring to move and make them angry like she did this morning. She hated when they were angry.
"ты готов солдат?" "Are you ready soldier?"
They both looked up, and he didn't even need to nod. They knew. Everyone knew. This is what he was made for. These missions. He was made for them, and they were made for him.
She was made for leverage.
When she looked up again he was waiting by the door, his head turned slightly over his shoulder.
"Логан" "Logan"
"Приходящий" "Coming"
She followed him outside.
