I was running as fast as I can, trying to run away from the monster. It tackled me with all it's strength, pushing me down to the ground. I screamed as I felt the pain of it's fangs sinking into my neck. Ripping through my flesh, I cried in pain as the blood flowed down but, nobody heard me. I went numb and then all I saw was darkness. I was dead.I screamed and shot up, drenched in cold sweat. My sheets tangled around my legs ,and my heart was pounding.i took deep breaths attempting to calm myself down. I've been experiencing the same nightmare since my mother passed away. No one knows how she died. They said that they just saw her in the forest, cold dead. It was reported that she was killed by an animal, but I have a feeling that she was murdered by something else.I sighed as I got out of bed, knowing I have to catch my flight to London, in other words, for my mother's funeral. It was already 2 am and I have to be at the airport by 5 am. I decided to get up and prepare myself. I put on black leggings to make my legs look long with a loose top that reveals my collar bones and then, I tied my long and black hair into a messy bun. My dark brown eyes seemed to emphasize the dark circles that I got for not getting enough sleep. So I wore light make-up on to cover them up and to freshen up my tanned skin. I looked at the time and it was already quarter to 5. I grabbed my luggage and walked out the door.

After the 9 hour flight, I searched through the crowd for my father. I noticed a familiar face smiling at me. As I ran up to him, he opened his arms and gave me a huge hug and we cried in each others' arms, mourning mom's death. I felt safe with him and we just stood there for a good of 5 minutes. In his arms, I know that it would be easier for me to get better.

"I missed you so much daddy." I said as I sobbed.

"I missed you too, princess." he replied trying not to cry. I've never seen my father cry. He was always the strongest one, but right now, it's a very hard time for him.

"Out of all the people, why does it have to be mom?" I asked rhetorically because I know that there is no answer for that.

"I don't know sweetheart but, we're going to do something about it." his voice sounded firm and full of hatred. That's when I knew that he knows something about mom's death.

"What do you mean we're going to do something? It was an animal it's not like we can kill it?" I asked, confused.

"Why don't we talk about it when we get home?" He asked as he stroked my hair.

"Okay" I responded.

I walked to the parking lot with my dad as I see a boy with dark-brown hair and a gray sweater with black skinny jeans.

"Alexander! I missed you so much!" I screamed as I ran up to him with open arms.

"Hayley! I missed you too! It's been forever since the last time I saw your irritating face." he chuckled.

I punched him on the arm. "Wow, still a jerk after so many years ,and I'm still wondering why my best friend is dating you."

"Well, let's just say that she can't resist my deadly looks." he says winking at me.

"Can you please stop before I throw up in my mouth." I rolled my eyes.

"Okay kiddos, let's not have a cat fight here. How about we do it in the house instead. I made Hayley's favorite, Shrimp tempura." He says with excitement.

"This is why you're the best dad in the whole world." I left a peck on his cheek.

It takes 2 hours of drive from the airport to Eppingdale. I've always loved the smell of London. I've been living in New York for two years yet, I still remember the memories that I made in this place. But now, I can't live with those memories with the thought of my mom gone, forever. I took a deep breath and tried to hold back my tears. I miss her so much.

"Hey, are you okay?" Alexander asks as he sees my hands shake.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I whispered giving him a light smile.

Eppingdale is a town in London that is hidden in the middle of Epping Forest. We've been living there for as long as I can remember. My parents told me that they met each other in Eppingdale and that's where their "love story" took place. I grew up in that town and that's where I met the most important people in my life.

"Okay. Home sweet home." dad says as he smiled at me.

I can't remember the last time I've been in this house. It still looks the same from the last time I've seen it. The two huge brown doors with vintage details on the front. Six windows where three of them has a balcony. Our house was always the biggest one in town. "Hey Hayley, put your stuff in your room. Food's almost ready." Alexander helped me carry my luggage out of the car.

My room was upstairs, last door to the left of the stairs. I have the the second biggest room next to my parents. I remember when me and Alexander used to fight over it before. He would always say that it's his room since that he's the eldest. But, mom would always remind him that ladies would get to choose first. It never changed. The pink wallpaper is still on the walls. My dolls that dad gave are still on top of the shelves. My beddings are still ones with heart details on it. The fairy lights are still on top of my window pane. Mom would always sit with me by that window and tell me stories about the stars, how they all had their own story. I've always loved the way her eyes shine as she look at them every night.I went downstairs and walked straight to the dining area. Dad always sat by the far end of the table. Alexander would always sit on his left side and I would sit beside Alexander. Mom always sat on dad's right and she would make sure that we would all pray first before eating.I miss her a lot. I wish she was still here beside us. It'll never be the same without her.

"So what happened to mom?" I asked as I swallowed my shrimp tempura.

"It wasn't an animal attack, it was a really dangerous creature." He answered not giving me any other information.

"You know something about it right? You know what that creature was right?" I asked desperately wanting to know answers.

"Do you believe in Vampires?" He asked ignoring my question.

"What are you talking about Vampires don't exist." I responded and that moment I knew my dad had gone insane!

"I know I sound crazy but its true, there is a pack of Vampires they are called the Payne's and they are ones that killed your mother." everything that he just said sounds nothing but nonsense to me.

"I lost my appetite. I think I'll be sleeping early tonight." I said as I left the table, trying to understand what my father just told me.
