I clenched the pepper spray in my hand as I walked to the place that Liam told me to meet at.I didn't tell nobody that I was going to meet with Liam, not even Christian or else he would freak and tell my family. I arrived at the place and I could see him leaning on by the tree. Even though I should probably hate this guy's guts since that might be my mother's killer, I can't ignore the fact that's he's seemingly charming. He's wearing a plain white t-shirt and dark skinny jeans with his leather jacket on his shoulder.

"I didnt know you were going to bring company." He says as I turned around and saw Niall walking right behind me. He glared at me. I was worried that he is going to tell my dad and that would mean trouble.

"I didn't know either." I responded as I rolled my eyes at Niall.

"Is he your boyfriend?" Liam asked with an annoyed expression. He seems to be very bothered to the fact that I am in a relationship.

"Gross! He's my cousin, not my boyfriend." I said in disgust and noticed Liam's relieved face.

"Okay then, well you're not the only who brought company." He says as three other vampire appeared behind him. I could tell Niall was scared as he ran up to me and held on my shoulders.

"Hi I'm David I'm Liam's father. This is my wife, Susan and my daughter, Lauren" Liam's dad shook our hands. Now, I could see where Liam got his looks. Wow, they're all attractive.

"I'm Hayley and this is my cousin, Niall." I introduced ourselves. I saw the grin on Lauren's face as I mentioned Niall. I turned to look at Niall and his face was red as a tomato.

"So Liam here told me that you wanted to know about your mother's death and no we didn't kill her. We are vampires but, we stopped drinking human blood a long time ago." David stated, but I'm still not convinced.

"If you didn't kill her then who did?" I asked furiously as Niall whispered in my ear to calm down, but I couldn't.

"There's another pack of Vampires and they are very dangerous. There are four of them and they're called the 'Nightwalkers'. They're the one's who killed your mother. Damon is the leader of the group, he has killed many people. Unfortunately, not just people, but also vampires." David explained to us.

"He killed vampires too?" I asked, all confused.

"Apparently, he did. Damon killed my best friend's girlfriend. He killed Zayn's girlfriend, Scarlett." Liam explained with anguish in his voice.

"Who are the four people in the Nightwalkers?" I felt fear crawling up my spine.

"There's Damon, Skylar, Francisco and Zayn." Lauren says as she looks away.

"Wait, hold on. If Damon killed Zayn's girlfriend, why is Zayn with him?" I asked being twice as confused as I was before.

"That's the thing he has the power to compel people. Like how he compelled your father by saying that it was us who killed your mother. He also compelled Zayn by fooling him that we killed Scarlett." Susan said. I can feel the anger in her tone.

"Is there a way for them to awaken?" I ask while looking at the rings on their hands.

"Yes, they can regain their true memories by drinking vampire blood." Lauren explains as she held on the ring on her finger.

"We need you Hayley. We need someone to trust us that all vampires aren't evil. We are afraid that the vampire hunters would kill all of us. I don't want to loose my family." David pleaded as he moves closer to his wife.

My phone vibrated in my back pocket. Someone is calling me and I checked who it was.It's my dad.

"I'll see what I can do. But, I have to go now." I tell them as I declined my dad's call. "C'mon Niall we have to go before my dad catches us.

I pulled Niall and led him out of the place. We walked down the forest just before sunrise. The fog was covering the pathways which made it difficult for the both of us to find the right way. We both stopped at the same time when we hear branches twitch. I looked at him and I can see sweat dripping down his forehead.

"What's that?" He asks as his voice trembles.

"I don't know." I responded

I hear branches snap behind me and I turn around as fast as I can. I screamed on the top of my lungs as I see Liam holding my shoulders to calm me down.

"Jesus Christ! Can you stop hiding behind the bushes and scare the soul out of me?" I shouted at him with frustration.

"I'm sorry" he chuckles and smirks at me.

"That wasn't even funny. Why are you following us?" I ask him as I remove his hands from my shoulder.

"I just wanted to tell you guys that no one should know about anything that we just talked about earlier. It's for the good of everyone." He says with a firm voice.

"Ok. I won't tell anyone. I just hope that Niall won't tell anyone too, especially my dad." I said as I look at Niall.

"Oh yeah, sure. I'll keep my mouth shut." Niall says as he zips his mouth with his fingers.

"See, we won't te-" I turn to face at Liam but he disappeared in a flash, again.

"I swear that guy creeps me out." I whispered to myself.

Once I got home, I saw my dad by the couch, holding a shotgun.

"Dad what are you going to do with that?" I asked, alarmed.

"Hey, Hayley. You're home. Why did you leave the house early this morning?" He asks me as he hides the shotgun under a blanket.

"You can't answer a question with a question, dad. Why were you holding a shotgun?" I asked him furiously.

"Ok princess, I love you so much and that's why, you have to know what's going on with Christian." He tells me as he tries to reach out for my hand.

I immediately moved back. "What does Christian have to do with this?" I shouted, desperate for answers.

"He's cheating on you Hayley. I saw him making out with Mr. Smith's daughter this morning when I went out looking for you." He tells me softly as he walks towards me.

In that moment, my whole world just fell apart. Tears rolled down my face. I held on my chest as I felt pain all over my body.

"What are you going to do with the shotgun then? Are you planning to shoot him? Do you think that killing him will make me feel better?" My voice was full of anger. I don't know what to feel. I don't know who to trust anymore.

"Hayley, princess. I just care about you." He tells me as he moves the shotgun away.

"You don't care about me. If you really do, you should've protected mom from those who killed her and she would still be here, with us." I shouted as I ran upstairs to my room.

Once I enter my room I saw a shadow by my window.
