Jimin told Ayame he was not allowing her to head home alone, and also that they should discuss what happened before parting ways.
Walking slowly down the few blocks it would take to get there, both were full of nerves.
Ayame, still shook up after what had just happened, knew she owe it to Jimin to explain everything...yet, she was also worried about what he'd think.
Jimin, taking Hoseok's advice, was about to reveal his true lifestyle as being a member of BTS. He had kept the secret for longer than he thought possible, but he cared too much for Ayame to hide it anymore.
Glancing over to see how she was, his face became worried. She was hugging herself tightly and her eyes focused down on her feet.
I wonder if things like what took place tonight happen quite often for her? Did she always have to deal with this by herself? It's not my place to pry, but...
Jimin began to move closer to her.
...At least I can be there with her now when she's scared.
His arm wrapped around her, and Ayame felt her shivers go away.
"You gonna be okay?" he wondered.
Nodding in appreciation, she said, "Yeah...thanks, Jimin."
They went the rest of the journey to her house in silence. Jimin tried his darndest to not let Ayame notice his rapid heartbeat, and thankfully it worked.
He let go of her when they walked up the front steps, and she unlocked the door.
"Should...I make some coffee?" Ayame gestured to her shopping bags, "I just bought some more since you were back," she smiled.
Seeing her happy to do so, he agreed, "Sure, that sounds nice. I'll just wait in here unless you want some help."
She thought about it, "I should be fine, but..."
Jimin tilted his head, "Hmmm?"
"You could come in the kitchen to keep me company, if you want. I mean...we haven't hung out in over a month, so I figured..."
He let out a small laugh, "Very true, you make a good point."
The next moments of silence, both worked on the coffee, then added cream and sugar to their liking. Being next to one another was enough and no talking was needed...yet.
Hot, piping brew in mugs, they went back to the living room couch to sit.
Neither could say a single word for the longest time, like they were allowing everything to sink in first.
Jimin took the initial step, "Ummm...what have you had to see and go through because of your job? Was this...the only time that kind of thing happened?"
