Was it worth it? Saving all those people? I look at the man beside me.
"Akutagawa."
No response.
I come to my senses. I choke from the heat. I feel the sweat dripping from my forehead. I feel my heart pounding in my ears.
I touch his cold hand. I say his name again.
"Akutagawa."
It comes out delayed, like a pitiful child. Am I a pitiful child?
"Akutagawa, please, I'm right here!"
He isn't opening his eyes.
He just lays there.
"Wake up!"
It isn't a game anymore! This is real life, doesn't he get that?
Was saving all those people really worth it? Was the universal ratio of risking one life for multiple lives what we live by?
I can't live in this world alone.
