Entering my room I grab my phone off the table and shoot a message to Haley that i'll meet her on the beach in 10 minutes. She answers with 'ok' very quickly.

Looking through my bathing suits I have trouble to decide which one I want to wear. One is a one piece blue with an open back or I can wear a red two piece that makes my ass look good.

Deciding on the red one I slip it on and examine it in the mirror. My mother's right, I am looking bloated :(

Rolling my eyes I shut the light off in my closet and grab my bag of my bed. Grabbing my book 'It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover' I shove it into my bag so I can read it while tanning.

"Hey Jessie! So I was wondering if you want to go to a different beach today," Haley asks nervously. She grabs her bag off the sand and walk over to me on the wooden pier that connects my house to the shoreline.

"Why do you want to go a different beach?" I ask her suspiciously as she gets near me.

"Umm, well the guy i'm interested in is going to be there and since I don't have any other friends to go with I wanted to ask you to go," She moves her hair out of her face cause of the wind blowing.

"Okay i'm down with that. Do you want to go in my car or yours?" I ask.

"Can we go in yours? I don't want it to look like it was my idea to go," She asks shyly. Why is she acting shy?

"Ok let's go," I turn around and she follows me down the pier and into my house.

"Wow your house is gorgeous. My mom doesn't have a single artistic bone in her body," She examines the artwork on the wall that I picked out. It's a 4x4 ft painting of a black rose with one pedal falling off. I liked it because it reminded me of myself. It's falling apart slowly but yet it's still beautiful in its own way.

"Actually my mom didn't pick out the furniture and art. I did," I look down at my feet shyly.

"Omg Jessie, you have such a good eye. I'm gonna need you to come decorate my room," She says in awe.

Walking into the garage I press the button on the wall so the garage door will rise. Haley gets in the passenger seat and throws her bag in the back.

Turning the key into the ignition I put my seat belt on and back out of the garage. While going down the long driveway I make the mistake of looking at Jacks house.

His car isn't there.

Oh, that sucks. I wonder if he did kill someone. STOP Jessie! He was only saying that to get a reaction out of you.

"Do you have the directions on how to get there?" I pull up Google maps on my phone with one hand on the leather wheel. She grabs my phone out of my hand and types in the address and gives it back to me.

"So what's going on with you and Jack?" She leans over and turns the music up a little bit and changes the temperature.

"Uh nothing. He came over earlier wanting to talk but I kicked him out," I state. Driving down the road we pass palm trees and homes that date back to the 1900s.

"I think you're the first girl he's ever talk to more than once besides his mom and therapist," She laughs and turns the music up loud so the conversation stops.

Parking my Jeep into a parking spot I unbuckle my seatbelt and get out. Haley does the same. We grab our bags and walk towards the group of teens. Usually this wouldn't be my element cause of my inability to want to be near people, but i'm going to fight through it for Haley.

There's lots of kids our age playing football, volleyball, and tanning with alcohol next to them.

"Omg there he is," Haley hides behind me.

"Why are you hiding? You wanted to come here so strut your stuff and let's find a fucking spot to sit," Walking over to an empty spot on the beach sort of near the other people I place my bag down and lay out my towel. Haley does the same thing.

"He's just so hot that it makes me nervous," She pulls her cover shirt off to reveal a white bikini.

"Haley, to get what you want you have to step out of your comfort zone and do what you really don't want to do. In the end you will be glad you did it," I plop down on my towel and grab my book to read.

Haley pulls her hair up into a messy bun and applies tanning oil and sunscreen. She sits down on her towel and looks at her phone.

All of a sudden a shadow covers my body which causes me to look up and see a boy my age.

"I'm sorry to bother you, but I noticed you arrive and I was wondering if you want to come over and hang out with my friends," He asks while staring at my tits. I mean the guy isn't too ugly. He could be a good fuck and go.

"Oh umm, sure I guess," I stand up and tell Haley i'm leaving. She says okay and goes back to looking at her phone.

"So what's your name?" The strange boy asks.

"My names Jessie," We walk across the sand over to a large group of people with alcohol in their hands.

"That's a nice name. I'm Cole," He hands me a beer from the cooler.

I pop open the iced cold beer and take a moment to examine the new people around me. There's girl wearing nothing but a string and some who are actually naked. Pop off I guess.

My eyes land on one person in particular who looks like he's ready to strangle me.

Jack.
