Emyrin's P.O.V.
I wake up hours later with a pounding pain in my head and an ache in my side. I feel the rough texture of tree roots underneath my hands, which are laying on my sides, gripping the cool Earth.
Sitting up, I look around and remembered what happened.
I got stabbed. The man from the village followed me. He helped me. I passed out. I am alive.
The man! I look around and see him asleep, a few feet away from me with his packs and items covering him. I have to get out of here, he'll surely kill me when he wakes. I get up, and my vision curves and spins for a few quick moments. Trying to gather myself quickly, I look around for my weapons and pack. I see them, sitting at the base of a nearby tree. I limp to it, the more I move the more my vision spins and fades. I know I need to stop and rest, but I can't be killed by the man. He'll recognize me at one point, I seriously need to leave.
Pushing through it, I reach my pack and weapons and get them quickly. I remember a few hours ago, how I left stuff for the man in that village. I should probably leave him a gift of gratitude, but just this once I need to be selfish. I don't want to die just yet.
Stumbling away from the area of the sleeping man, I try not to give out any signs of pain. After what feels like hours of walking (but I know it's only been at least 10 minutes) I lean against a tree trunk and examine where the man tried to fix my severed and bloody skin. Just touching it slightly sends icy hot flames of pain through my sides. A new anger from this pain is born, and I automatically blame my father. I do it everytime, but I deserve to. The flame of pain is now a flame of anger, boiling to my brim. And now I know.
I'm getting revenge on my father, if it's the last thing I do.
I'm going to kill King Goldrim.
A/N: Really short chapter but I need to update because I'm actually getting like 3 reads LMAO and it's so fun writing, I can't wait to get to the exciting parts. Stick around for this story, I have such good plans for it.
Also if there's anything that doesn't make sense throughout the story or any small details that are wrong it's probably because I forgot some parts of my own book LMFAO and tbh I'm too lazy to go back and re-read so like
