"You cannot go back Nathan! You will be caught, I need you alive!" Washington exclaimed, Nathan had revealed that someone knew his identity but he didn't say who.
" 'tis alright sir, I need to continue no matter the cost, I can handle myself." Nathan grinned hoping what he said was true.
"God be with you Nathan."
"'Till we meet again!"
"General Cornwallis? You asked to see me?"
"Come in Hale, I have someone here who you need to meet first, this is Sabrina Redgrave"
Nathan did a double take, it was Sabrina but she had long brown hair and was wearing a crimson dress, not an army uniform, he composed himself to speak.
"Nice to meet you Ma'am"
"Likewise i'm sure, sir" Sabrina curtsied to the spy. The palms of Nathan's hands become sweaty, had Sabrina told Cornwallias about what he did?
"Sabina has been collecting information on rebel movement for us I thought you should listen to what she has to say"
"Yes sir" Nathan responded nervously, his heart began to pound. Sabrina proceeded to recount every plan made by the continental army in the last few days, Nathan was internally screaming, he couldn't do anything to stop her, he just had to stand there trying to look glad at the revelation.
"Very good, now leave, both of you. I'll tell you what I need you to do later" he waved his hand dismissively. They left the tent. As soon as they were out,
"You are a lying fraud!" Nathan seethed into her ear. Sabrina didn't stop her quick pace like he wasn't there.
"Isaac Redgrave" Nathan stated finally. The girl before him froze, she slowly turned, eyes blazing into his skull.
"What did you say?"
"Isaac Redgrave, one of the latest recruits for the Continental Army. I knew your name sounded familiar."
"What did you tell him!?" Sabrina hissed, grabbing his arm and pulling him out of earshot of the army.
"I asked him if he knew the name Sabrina, and.."
"He said no," Sabrina completed his sentence.
"Do you know him?" he questioned.
"Aye, of course, and he knows me very well"
"He said he didn't know you, why did he lie?" Nathan asked gently.
"Because it's his fault I'm in this mess in the first place!" she spat.
"Who is he to you?"
Isaac bolted up gasping "Sabi!" he cried. His betrayal replayed over and over in his head. Why had he done that? He felt a strong sense of regret, he tried to convince himself that he'd done the right thing, just two more years until her apprenticeship was up. In reality she shouldn't even be worrying about working for Thaddeus, she should be getting married and living a life of comfort, not working on his behalf.
