✧・: *✧・゚:*Jia was regretting this.
Immensely.
She was currently sat on the floor of her bedroom, surrounded by text books as she tried to plan out a tutoring session that was due to start in ten minutes at her house.
She regretted inviting Riki over, however what she regretted the most was agreeing to tutor him in the first place.
"What's got you so stressed? You look like you're about to start pulling your hair out."
Jia jumped at the sudden voice coming from her doorway, whipping her head around to shoot a cold glare at her older brother.
"Leave me alone Soobin, I'm just- busy." Jia says as she turns back to the book in front of her.
Soobin hums before entering the room to kick some books out the way to sit in front of her.
"Hey! I had them open on a certain page-" Jia protests as she tries to catch the books that went flying over to the other side of her bedroom.
"You look distressed, talk to me." Soobin says as he leans back on his hands and ignores her complaints.
Jia rolls her eyes, a sigh falling from her lips as she rubs her forehead. "I agreed to tutor this boy, he's coming over in less than ten minutes for a session and I haven't prepared anything."
"Why did you agree to tutor him if it's causing you this much stress?" Soobin asks with a perplexed expression on his face.
"I honestly have no idea." Jia mumbles in response, causing Soobin's eyebrows to furrow.
"Are you friends with him or something?" Soobin then asks, leaning forward from his previous position.
"Well- we were, but it's sort of complicated now." Jia explains, feeling more nervous than before as she thinks about the underlying tension between her and Riki.
"Why's that?" Soobin asks, resting his chin on his palm as he does so.
"It doesn't matter anymore, we're not friends and I'm fine with that." Jia says, not wanting to speak about her situation with Riki.
Soobin nods in understanding before ruffling Jia's hair, causing her to squirm away.
"Soobin!" Jia cries out as he tickles a spot under her chin where she was the most ticklish. Soobin laughs hysterically, ignoring her pleas as he continues to tickle her. That was until Jia kicks her leg out in reaction causing Soobin to fly back.
Suddenly, the door bell rings, causing the two siblings to immediately sit up straight.
"Crap, he's here." Jia hisses as she stands up and straightens her skirt in the process, before quickly walking out her room.
When she makes it to her front door, she grabs the handle before stopping for a second to take a deep breath.
Jia stands there, asking herself why are you so nervous?
When she finally opens the door to reveal Riki, he takes in her disgruntled appearance and hides a smirk as she quickly steps out the way for him.
"Are you okay?" Riki asks as he steps inside the house and takes off his jacket.
"Why is everyone asking me this?" Jia mutters under her breath as she closes the door.
"Huh?"
"Nothing, I'm fine," Jia says as she takes Riki's jacket to hang it up, "did you want anything to drink?"
"Ah- I'm okay but thank you." Riki replies with a small smile as he awkwardly stands by her staircase, not knowing where to go.
"Uh- follow me." Jia says as she walks past him and up the stairs to her room.
"Your house is huge," Riki points out as he admires the chandelier on the ceiling and the grand staircase that leads up to the second floor, "very fancy"
Jia just hums in response, used to this sort of reaction when people first come to her house.
"This is my room, we can study in here," Jia says as she opens the door and is silently received to see Soobin wasn't still sat there ready to poke fun at the two.
"Your room is pretty," Riki says as he steps over the books on the floor to admire her bookshelf, "have you read all of these?"
"Yes." Jia responds as she comes to stand next to him to look at her large collection of books.
Riki then moves on to her window, kneeling on her window seat to get a closer look at the garden, "I thought your house was big but your garden is massive- wait, is that a lake?"
"It's a pond, Riki." Jia says, a small laugh escaping her lips in amusement.
Riki turns his head to look at her, surprise washing over him as he hears her laugh for the first time since their argument.
"Jia- I,"
Riki stops himself, turning around completely to face the girl, who had a confused expression on her face.
"I know you probably don't want me to bring this up, but I'm sorry for what happened." Riki says quietly, causing Jia to frown.
Silence fills the room, Riki avoiding her eyes as Jia looks at him with a sad expression on her face.
"I know," Jia finally says, breaking the silence as Riki looks up at her, "It's okay."
"It's not, I should never have called you that. I was just frustrated and I said it in the moment-"
"Riki I wasn't exactly the nicest to you when we first met, I can see why you would call me something like that." Jia says, shaking her head as the boy tries to argue.
"But I was wrong Jia, you're actually really nice, and I enjoy spending time with you," Riki says as he stands up from the window seat, causing Jia to look up at him, "I mean that, I- missed you."
Jia suddenly starts to blush a deep shade of red, which she attempts to hide by looking at the floor instead of Riki himself.
"I missed you too, Riki."
