The sound of rolling balls and pins getting knocked down fills the room. The bowling alley was packed with all kinds of people. There were teenagers on one side and a typical American family on the other side.
The super squad was positioned in the middle of the room.
A cold chill from the air conditioning hits Hope making her shiver as Jed hits another strike. "Yes! Four in a row baby!"
"Boo!" Lizzie shouts throwing fries at Jed's face. He just caught it in his mouth and ate it.
Hope looks down at the paper Cleo was writing in. She doesn't know how to read the score sheet but she knows that Jed is winning. He already won the first set and now it seemed like he's planning on winning the second one too.
Jed's ridiculously good bowling skills shocked everyone. Jed hitting a strike on his first try left everyone's mouth open. But after his second and third everyone got used to it. That didn't stop the boy from bragging though.
When the pins reset it's Hope's turn. She picks up her ball and tries to aim for the middle as best she can. She hears Josie cheer from behind her and that just makes her want to get a strike.
Hope lets the ball slide from her fingers and she watches as it hits all but one pin. Hope groans. Of all the pins that could've gotten left behind it had to be number 10.
Throughout the game, Hope always got a spare, and most often than not the pin that got left behind was always the 10th pin behind.
Every time she had to hit the 10th pin for her second roll her ball always lands in the gutter.
The 10th pin became Hope's enemy.
Hope grabs another ball and doesn't even try as hard to hit the pin that got left behind. Once she let the ball go she turned around and tries to go back to her seat not wanting to watch her ball land in the gutter again.
But before she could Josie was cheering and kissing her cheek over and over. "You got it! You finally got it!"
Hope turns around confused and she sees that the 10th pin was knocked over.
She actually got it.
"I got it!" Josie hugs her tight and Hope lifts her spinning her around.
"Can you two stop with the cuteness? It wasn't that impressive." Lizzie rolls her eyes.
"I don't know, Lizzie. Hitting the 10th pin on its own is kinda hard to do." Hope turns to the owner of the voice and gives her a high five. "Thank you, Cleo."
"Whatever. I'm gonna go order some more fries."
"I'll come with you!" Cleo pipes up. Lizzie looks at the girl curiously but she lets Cleo drag her to the snack bar.
Once the girls reached the snack bar and Cleo gave them a thumbs up from behind her back. Jed, Hope, and Josie sit beside MG.
They had a mission to do.
After Lizzie agreed to come and be MG's "date" the squad quickly formulated a plan to finally get the two together.
The four of them were messaging each other, trying to come up with a plan all afternoon while waiting for dinner time to come around.
The plan began at dinner.
They made Lizzie jealous when they constantly teased MG to ask out the blonde waitress. That plan did more harm than good considering Lizzie ignored MG for the rest of the meal but she went back to normal when MG offered to pay for her meal. In the end, it got the desired effect.
