Chapter four

Mia

"So what did you decide?" Holden asks.

I take a deep breath to calm my nerves as they consume my body. Uncertainty starts to take over as both sets of eyes are on me. Coming in I thought I knew what I wanted to do but now I am beginning to second guess myself. I look between the two of them and come up with my own proposition.

"I accept your suggestion." I watch as both of their eyes light up. "But I have a few rules of my own."

"And what are those?" Hudson asks

"First off I am not good with physical touch never have been if at any point I don't want it I will pull away. Second I need open communication I need to know how you feel about different things and I will do my best to do the same. Lastly there are some things that have happened in the past that I am not ready to open up about and I need you to not push me on it. I want to talk to you about something but I can't talk about it here I need it to be in a more personal space." I say.

"We can go to our place at lunch we were going to head out early anyways." Holden says.

I simply nod my head. There is no going back now. "Use your words princess."

"Yes Holden."

"We can also go over any remaining questions you have then as well." Hudson states.

"Sounds good to me. I was going to get some food for Emma and I was wondering if I am able to use the company card for that?" I question wanting to change the subject.

"Of course. Please feel free to use that for new cloths as well. I'm sure you had cloths that fit the job you had received but now that you have been promoted you are representing us and we expect that to be reflected through your wardrobe."

"Yes Sir."

"Good now we only have half a shift so get going and try to get some work done."Hudson says getting serious.

I nod my head and he walks up to me giving me a light kiss on the lips, and Holden gives me a kiss on my forehead, his hands holding both my cheeks. I turn around and walk out of the room. I make my way to my own office and make a cup of coffee. I sit at my desk and look through the emails currently taking over my inbox and do my best to respond to them importance a factor. I order Panera and have it delivered. I work on a few more things and am just finishing up when Emma knocks on my door.

"Come in." I say turning my monitor off.

I stand up and go around my desk and sit on one of the couches in front of my desk.

"Come sit. I ordered for you I hope that's okay." I say.

"That's just fine thank you." She states placing the bag on the table and pulling the food out. I grab mine and we both sit starting to eat.

"So how long have you been with the company?" I question.

She looks up as if calculating in her head. "3 years." She says suprise in her voice.

"That is quite a while, was it always as an intern for the old head of digital marketing or did you do something else first?"

"I actually started out at the reception desk downstairs as I was getting my degree. I grew up with the Adlers My parents are good friends with their parents so I was always around them growing up. My parents tried to get the brothers dad to give me a good job but I said I wanted to earn it myself so I have been working hard trying to prove my worth."

"That is very admirable of you. I grew up with a mom and dad who both had to work two jobs just to make ends meet so I worked hard to get my degree and I was ready to do the same thing you did."
