"Eevee Land" ~A Pokemon Fanfiction~

Chapter 1: Dawn of Disaster

Meoweon Pov

"Can't catch me!" I yelled to my brother, Shadoweon. He chased after me and tried to grab my tail, but I was able to get away in the nick of time.

In a flurry of flying sand and waving paws Shadoweon was able to eventually tag me, but by this time it was already very dark, and we were tired.

"I think we should go to sleep now, Vaporeon might get mad if we stay out much longer, '' Shadow mentioned of our mother.

"Good idea..." I yawned loudly and followed my brother back to the bushes where we slept.

Our mother and father were already waiting for us, they had been very worried.

"You shouldn't be out so late! You two might get hurt, what if the Pokemon Trainers catch you? They've been swarming the area lately!" Our father Armoureon scolded sternly.

"Sorry dad," I mumbled exhaustedly.

I walked over to my bush, flopping down on a soft pile of moss and feathers. It was very soft and I dozed off into a deep sleep rather quickly. Little did I know, but tomorrow our camp would be invaded.

It was the next morning, like usual, me and the rest of our tribe ate some food, it was variable depending on our power. Because I was a cat species, I ate some meat, my brother just inhaled some shadows. My father munched on a bit of steel, and my mother drank water and ate fish. A meager, but satisfying breakfast.

After eating, me and my brother raced outside to play a game called, "Ball and Stick," it was played by pushing a small pinecone or rock with a stick, and there was no way for anybody to win, you just wanted to keep the object for as long as possible, for fun.

"That looks like a good sized branch!" Shadoweon commented eagerly, and we both headed towards it. Roughly trying to pick it up with my mouth, it was a struggle to get it out of the undergrowth. While we were busy trying to remove it from whatever it was stuck on, a loud rustling sound erupted from the bushes behind us.

Startled, we turned to see a human standing behind us -and with a pokeball.

"RUN!" I screamed, and we both took off flying towards the middle of camp. Alerted, some of the adults came to our rescue, Soldiereon sending fleets of pointy arrows towards the intruder, and young Beeeon sending stingers filled with venoms at the stranger.

The trainer ran away, but quickly summoned up his courage and threw a different pokeball, making a Butterfree appear. Completely under the persons command, the fellow pokemon sent out a whirlwind, causing Auraeon, who recently joined the battle, to be sent back and smashed against a wall. In my panic, I made a terrible mistake and sent out a fleeble Yowl, which was one of my attacks. It inflicted barely any damage and me and Shadow were suddenly noticed. The insect sent a Stun Spore towards my brother, but luckily he dodged it just in time. Shadoweon ended up tumbling off a cliff into the water, and was starting to burn because he was a Dark pokemon. But just before it seemed like he would die, Glaceon sent out a burst of cold air and froze the water underneath him, and he was now able to crawl out.

Cloudeon then rescued him, and the she-pokemon brought him to safety. But now I was all alone and very vulnerable. The Butterfree was slowly starting to be taken down, but down before my mother got attacked by an Air Slash.

"MOM!" I yelled and ran out of the safety of the shrubbery, but that was when the Pokemon Catcher saw me, and threw a Pokeball.

I didn't know where I was, all I could hear was some vague shrieking of my name.

"Meoweon!" The wail of my father echoed through the ball. One by one, I heard the sound of others being taken. One, two, three, I couldn't bear the noise. I also couldn't help but feel that this was all my fault. If I hadn't acted on impulse and Yowled, the trainer might not have taken any notice and been defeated. But maybe this would just be our fate, maybe we would all be traded off and never see each other again, but there was one thing I knew almost for sure, we would never see our home again.
