Sophie's POV-The night was just like Sophie had dreamed. Well except the part about Bronte. That upped her expectations. He laughed. Now, he was laughing at me being grumpily pulled along by my friend tripping over everything in her path but that was the most positive emotion he has ever displayed.
I had met with dex, wylie and stina to apologise as well as on behalf of biana who had seemingly disappeared into the crowd when we were called to the stage. Much to my dismay, I was told to lead the way on stage. Any empath in the audience would probably faint on the spot at my mashup of nervousness and other unpleasant emotion with a bit of hope and pride thrown into the mix as well. As I lead Team Valiant onto the makeshift stage that towered at the front of foxfire. I watched as my friends received awards one after the next my smile growing prouder with each word. Once they had all received their prizes there was an uncomfortable silence in the air.
My heart was pounding on my ears for no apparent reason. Like why? I defeated the neverseen plus the council and the black swan already said they have good news.
Snapping back to reality 1 found even more reasons to blush. Three to be precise.
1- the council had announced my name twice now why she was stuck on her own head, 2- Biana was giggling silently while everyone watched me, some with amusement some with concern & 3- why in the entire lost cities would anyone in their right minds have thought to add blush to someone who clearly does it very naturally.
'Biana' I mentally screamed. Now would be a really good time to figure out how to teleport on the spot or mentally slap someone.
Second person POV-
She shuffled her feet towards the middle of the stage where the rest of her team had already was gathered. Unfortunately her hair was braided, leaving her nothing to hide behind.
By this time Sophie had already made her way to the council.
" Now last but not least, what would we have done without our brave leader." Councillor emery's voice boomed as he boomed down soon the elves below him.
He paused before continuing. " as all of you should know, nothing would be possible without the great elf standing in front of us. Sophie foster has done all elves such great dead's that cannot be played down to pure luck. For this we would like to present her three new stones to add to her already extensive collection. Bravery, for the way you took up the challenge that so many would run away from because of just the first step in your path. Ingenuity because of the creative ways you solved all your problems, on ways that all elves look up to. Finally for your kindness. You acted from your heart to help thousands while not expecting praise and brought such hope to your team.
Sophie's head felt heavy as she walked across the stage, making it halfway to her friends before councillor Noland let out a noice that in perspective of what he could do is not much but still enough to get the crowds attention.
Sophie's head turned in the direction of council only to be ushered forwards once again.
Councillor emery spoke up once again.
"Now as all of you know you where promised good news." Many heads snapped upright including Sophie's as she inspected the dost on her shoe. Her heart races once again, this time pumped with adrenaline.
"We are here to announce the good news that we have come to a conclusion on what the problem that slowed us all down was. Many of you know that the Neverseen where constantly a couple of steps ahead of us."
Sophie winced at the thought of how she let so many people down in the process of getting to this point.
After a satisfactory amount of heads bobbed up and down in agreement with his statement councillor emery continued.
"Many should also know that the original plan for our moo park her," he said he's tiring to Sophie, "was not supposed to come across our world until her eighteenth birthday yet this did not go according to plan. But we are ready to fix this..." Sophie's heart dropped to Antarctica at the mention of this. She barely priestesses the next few words until her ears perked up one final time and she caught the words she never expected, never wanted to hear.
"..Sophie foster will be banished from the lost cities until she turns eighteen.."
The words ring around her head, spinning, making everything seem disproportionate. The smile was wiped off from Biana's face being replaced with a ghostly look of pure terror, Grady and Edeline jumped to their feet from their positions in the crowd and everything felt wrong. Foxfire no long felt safe, the crystals seemed to sting her eyes with the light and the edges of the walls looked to sharp. Everything felt threatening. Then everything was black and hard as she hit the floor.
