Snow heavily came down from the skies, limiting vision for most people. Roads were starting to pile up with snow while plow companies tried to keep up with plowing it away. A red truck drove through the snow, swerving a bit on some ice. Suddenly it swerved too hard and hit a ditch. A young man stumbled out of the truck and kicked its wheel, cursing.

He threw his jacket on, the name on the back of it reading Davide. He looked around, noticing a small path that led into the woods, Worn down by dirt bikes. Shivering, he slowly walked down the path, hearing cars bypass him. He kept walking for what felt like forever, eventually, stumbling upon what looked like an old mansion. He went to knock on the door, but as his fist hit it, it slowly opened. Surprised, he stumbled into the building. Everything was quiet, unsettling quiet. He walked up a series of stairs. He would shout occasionally, but there would be no answer. He sighed as he opened a door to one room. He looked around in the room, glancing from side to side. There were some old paintings in the room, as well as pictures of groups of people. He noticed a desk where a thick book would be sitting. He walked to the book, looking it over. The cover of the book was too destroyed over time that it was unreadable. He looked around again and noticed a couch. He walked up to it and sat down on it, waiting for a rat or cockroach to run out from it, but nothing. He sighed as he lay down on the couch, slowly falling asleep.
