Chapter 22

Nolu received a call from hospital regarding Ndabezinhle being admitted. She drove with her husband , arriving there they get help from the reception. Walking into her daughter's ward , her eyes water at the sight before her. Nothing breaks a mother's heart than seeing your child in a hospital bed lying helplessly. Her daughter's face was unrecognizable due to the bruises and swelling. Nolu & Muzi surely knew that it was Ndabe's husband , he had gone far this time around and Muzi was determined to teach him a lesson.

Muzi : "Stop crying baby. She'll be okay , you'll see."  He hushed his wife. Ndabezinhle opens her eyes upon hearing voices. 

Nolu : "Oh my baby."  She says going to hug her.

--Five days later

Nolu had been visiting her daughter in hospital , she was a little better because she could talk properly now. Today she was being discharged and as expected Nolu had to come fetch her. They arrived home and Ndabe's sisters were home , they had cooked good food as to welcome her bavk home. Well Ndabe didn't really seem to like that at all.

Ndabe : "Mama. What's happening?"

Nolu : "Awu baby. Your siblings thought it would be good to actually welcome you home so they don't seem like they are pitying you."  Ndabe frowns.

Ndabe : "I'd just like to rest."

Nolu : "Hau baby , even if it's for a few minutes."

Ndabe : "No mah! I need to be alone unless I'm not welcome here"  she asks in a harsh tone.

Muzi  : "Hey! Don't speak to my wife like that!"  Ndabe rolls her eyes and walks off to her old room. Everyone just remains shocked until Mnqobi breaks the silence.

Mnqobi : "y'all want to go after her?"

Zamo : "Kahle Mnqobi."  He shrugs.

Mnqobi : "She'll keep on doing that and mina I won't even bother myself with her."  They all continue eating and chatting. 

---Later on!

Ndabe enters the lounge and stands in front of the TV , blocking Nolu's view.

Nolu : "Excuse me girl!" 

Ndabe : "Mama. Where is Sphamandla?"

Nolu : "Who's that?"

Ndabe : "Your ex-boyfriend." 

Nolu : "I'm not his keeper weNdabe so please move."

Ndabe : "Yazi mama , I didn't want to believe it but now you just proving to me that Neill was right about you. You are a killer." 

Nolu : "Ey ungazonginyela wena!"  She says sternly, pointing her finger at her.

Ndabe : "What? I'm gone disappear too?"  Nolu just shakes her head.

Nolu : "Move out of my way THEMBELIHLE before I punch your teeth out." 

Ndabe : "Yazi I just realized something."

Nolu : "What?"

Ndabe : "That YOU THE CAUSE OF MY FAILED MARRIAGE MAMA!!"

Nolu : "Ey fokofu Ndabezinhle because I wasn't the one who told that pig to marry you and I certainly didn't send him to come play you so unganginyeli. Mind how you speak to me cause ngizokukhaba!"  Ndabe swallows.

Ndabe : "You are my mother! You were supposed to stop me from marrying him!" 

Nolu : "What? Didn't we ask you a hundred times with your father if you were really sure about him and you said you love and if it doesn't walk out it'll be on you. Didn't you say we must let y'all make mistakes? Huh? Don't be crazy wena!" 

Ndabe : "You've always loved daddy more than us!"

Nolu : "Aibo!!" 

Ndabe : "Vele mama. Even when he mistreated me , you never stood up for me! You never noticed when I was raped mama! Then you say you are a mother! And you love us!"  She storms off , leaving Nolu in tears.
