It's been about a month or two since the formal campaign kicked off in full. Campaign sorties from one location to another, with travel required on a day-to-day basis. In spite of spending the rally together, Risa and Leni have maintained a distance from one another, attempting to keep their relationship a secret as much as they possibly can.Notwithstanding her strong desire to walk and hold hands with Risa in every campaign, Leni tried to keep her emotions under control. Kiko, Alex, and Teddy, all of whom were aware of what they have, have all been extremely supportive and helpful in keeping their relationship out of the public eyes. EXCEPT TODAY.
Today, Leni-Kiko and the entire Tropang Angat crew travelled to Nueva Ecija for their campaign event, which takes place under the scorching heat of the sun. In their haste, the three gentlemen forgot their "roles" - to sit in between Leni and Risa, forcing the two women to take up adjacent seats. This was the first time they had become this physically close in public, and they are doing everything they can to maintain their sanity.
When it came to Kiko's turn to speak, everyone in the audience was yelling for Leni's attention. As a gesture, Leni urged everyone to keep quiet and allow Kiko to finish his remarks. Even though she tried her best to pay attention to what Kiko was saying, she was distracted by the fact that Risa was sitting near her.
“Sa, di ako makapag focus kay Kiko. Namiss kita katabi ei” Leni then whispered to Risa, closing the gap between each other.
“Ga, madaming mata ang nakapaligid saatin. Please don’t make this hard for the both of us” They both laugh at what Risa said. Totoo ngang madami ang nakatingin sakanila ngayon. Leni went back to her position and tried to listen to Kiko’s speech.
“VP!!!! VP!!!” one supporter kept on calling her but she’s out of focus. She kept of looking at Risa's direction, trying to communicate with her.
Because of the closed environment and the large number of people, the temperature increased, and everyone was made to endure the heat. Good thing Leni brought a fan with her.
“Ang init” she told herself and looked at the woman beside her. “Hindi na naman nagdala ng pamaymay. Napakakulit”
When Risa began to sweat, Leni wanted to wipe it away, but she was afraid people would notice, so she simply extended her arms to fan Risa to cool her down instead.
"Thank you," Risa said in hushed tones. She didn't anticipate Leni making that move, which is why she started feeling butterflies in her stomach. Risa then asked one of her staff for two bottles of water but only one was given to her.
“Sayo na lang to, Ga. Kaiinom ko lang din kanina” Leni stopped from fanning.
“Thank you, Sa”
It may appear to be so insignificant to the general public, yet it means everything to Leni and Risa. This is the kind of love they share for each other: simple and selfless, and it is this kind of love that has allowed their relationship to continue so long.
