The main weapon that both of these guys use is a blade, for both it's always with them and they don't leave home without it. Both weapons are light enough so that it can be carried around with ease but strong enough to do serious damage when used correctly and efficiently. Teen wolf uses his claws as his secondary weapon while Shadowhunters uses daggers. Claws and daggers aren't exactly like swords in terms of power but they're still pretty powerful in their own way. Teen wolf has never been shown using guns or any other kind of projectile based weaponry while Shadowhunters has been shown using guns quite often throughout both seasons one and two. Even though teen wolf doesn't use projectiles very often he does have some sort of accuracy with throwing stuff because he was able to hit Lydia in her shoulder by throwing a pen at her. He also knows how to throw knives accurately because he threw one into Gerard Argent's neck when Gerard tried attacking him from behind. Shadowhunter on the other hand doesn't have much accuracy at all, he usually just fires off rounds into an area hoping that something will get hit.
