-the next day...

"what do you mean he's not here?!" the black haired girl shouted as she leaned over the brown haired man's desk, her hands pressed firmly against the top of it. the man's violet eyes wandered up to the female blader.

"i sent him on a mission." he stated. "to wolf canyon." he added. the girl furrowed her eyebrows at doji's words. she took a step back from his desk and blinked in confusion. "wolf canyon?" she questioned. "why there?" she asked. the man hummed lowly, his eyes moving from the girl in front of him to the window that had adorned the back of his desk.

"i told him in order to actually defeat gingka, he would need the 'fangs of heart'."

cecilia narrowed her eyes at doji. 'sounds fake..' she thought, closing her eyes and turning around.

"you're leaving?" she heard the brown haired man ask. the brown skinned girl nodded her head. "yeah." she answered, looking back at the man who was now looking at her. "there's no point in me waiting on him when there's a possibility of him being dead by the end of the day." she added. the man raised an eyebrow at cecilia.

"what makes you think he's gonna die?" he asked. the black haired girl scoffed at him before facing forward once more. "it's wolf canyon, doji." she stated. "those wolves are gonna get to him before you go get him." she spoke. doji hummed lowly at her words. "you really have no hope in him, do you?" he asked. the female blader huffed softly before she quietly strolled out of his office.

'of course i don't.' the girl thought, placing her hands in the pockets of her cream colored cardigan. "not one bit." she muttered under her breath.

-time skip, night time, cecilia's room...

the girl's chocolate brown eyes stared up at the pale colored ceiling above her. "i wasted so much time last night training for a battle i wasn't gonna end up doing." she muttered as she sat up and raised her arm, moving it in a circular motion. "my arm is absolutely killing me." she complained. the girl sighed softly as she tucked a knee under her chin, pressing her cheek against her knee.

'my whole body hurts...' she though, her brown eyes focused on the white comforter that sat on her bed. 'everything hurts...' she continued, sighing softly.

"cecilia, you've done a great job!" her father's voice rang in her head. "i'm sure you'll be the most amazing blader japan's ever seen!"

tears welled in the girl's brown eyes. "dad..." she murmured softly as tears threatened to stream down her face.

"ce, you won another battle?" her mother's voice asked. "i'm so proud of you, love!" she chirped.

"i'm not proud of what i'm doing, mom." the girl choked out. "battling is suppose to fun..." she whispered. "but in here, it's for other gains." she muttered. "i hate this so much..." she cried softly.
