chan sighed, his breath making a small cloud, indicating how cold it was. he was sitting on the stairs of his university, waiting for soonyoung to pick him up. chan wanted to stay back for a few hours to do some of his work. so he ended up finishing everything in the library.

it was also a good time to wrap his head around all of this thoughts. chan just felt so confused with his feelings. maybe he doesn't feel romantically attracted to his friends. he hasn't gotten the chance to get along with them individually! how could he assume something like already?

loud, unpleasant laughter was heard from across the left of the sidewalk. chan glanced at a group of unsettling looking boys. they clearly looked drunk, slurring their speech, stumbling over each other. chan gulped, turning the other way so he didn't make eye contact with. he felt alarmed, but they wouldn't want anything to do with him, surely.

but, of course chan was wrong once he heard their laughter die down. he hugged himself, checking his phone, silently pleading for soonyoung to magically appear. chan's grip on his phone tightens, his palms beginning to sweat.

"hey, you look like someone we know!" one of the boys—no, they looked around chan's age. chan quickly took a good look at them, and, chan had no idea who they were.

there was four of them. one man scoffed, reaching out to grab chan's jaw. "we're speaking to you, where are your manners?"

chan stood up, slapping his arm away. "i don't know who the fuck you guys are, so just leave me alone."

maybe that was a bad idea, considering chan was obviously outnumbered. but how dare they think they can talk to someone like that, a stranger at the least, too? it's ironic to think they're trying to teach chan about manners.
