He knew when he signed up to be a professional football player that there would be specific commitments he would be uncomfortable with; on the top of this list would be talk show interviews. So, since his team had just lost the Super Bowl and he had become very quickly become one of the most notable players in the league, here he was doing the Ellen Show.

"Alright, we are back with Joe Burrow; we are going to help you find love, Joe; it's a straightforward game called, Who'd You Rather?" Ellen said. "I'm going to show you two women, and you'll tell me who'd you rather."

Joe wipes his forehead and says, "I'm scared." "Good, let's start." "Bella Hadid or Y/N Y/L/N?" "Umm, Y/N Y/L/N," he says. "Y/N Y/L/N or Zendaya?" "Y/N Y/L/N" "Y/N is single, so we are starting well." Ellen jokes. "Kendall Jenner?" "Huh", he looks down, thinking, "I'm going to go in a direction I don't normally go in, so Y/N Y/L/N." The audience laughs because, at this point, it's ridiculous. "Okay, Y/N Y/L/N is very good; what about Ariana Grande?" "I'm still going to say Y/N Y/L/N Ellen." "WOW, I was texting with her just yesterday; I think I could get this hooked up. Who's next? Oh, it's Joey King"

Starting to feel a lot embarrassed, Joe says, "Still Y/N guys." "Well, you know I'm friendly with Y/N, and if you would like to hang out with her, I can arrange that." "You're going to hook me up with Y/N?" "If you would like that, I bet she would be thrilled." "So, you're just doing this for real right now, matchmaking?" "Yes, this is not a game, Joe," Ellen says. "Oh, so this is an actual thing?" "Yes!" Ellen says. "I've got Y/N lined up right now backstage."

"Can you image if she just walked out for real?" Joe says. "Yes, I can! Everyone, please welcome to the stage Y/N Y/L/N!!" Just like that, Joe's worst nightmare has come to life. He should have gone with his gut and lied about who'd you rather choices. Y/N walks out looking like a vision in a silk white tub top and matching flared slacks. He stands up, very embarrassed to greet her. She walks right up to him, allows him to embrace her, and he says, "Hi, how are you?" "Good, good," she grins. "Huge fan!" He feels his cheeks start to heat a bit, he cannot believe this is happening, and apparently, she knows who he is. Joe was pretty sure this was the worst moment of his life. He would never go on another talk show again if it was the last thing he ever did.

"Y/N! I'm so happy you agreed to his very last-minute appearance.", Ellen says. "Hey Ellen, how are you? This is not what I had in mind when you asked me to be on the show two days ago." "Eh, no one ever does; this is how we keep it interesting. Go ahead and sit next to each other close if you would like." He looks over at her, and she is blushing, looking every bit as uncomfortable as he does. "I'm so sorry about this," he whispers. She looks up at him and says, "It's okay; at this point, it's apparent Ellen hates me, so I shouldn't be surprised."

"Y/N, I do not hate you! I am trying to find you a life partner. I wouldn't do that for someone I hated. We've got Joe here; he's very interested; I just vetted him. He's rich and hot. You should be thanking me here!" Y/N rolls her eyes, "Ellen, you can't just spring things like this on people on national television. You've probably scarred poor Joe here for life. He's never going to come back." Joe laughs and says, "You're probably right. The next time she'll probably be trying to get me married." "Oh, that's not a bad idea, Joe!" Ellen says.
