Breakfast was quite a spread. Two cups of coffee, two glasses of juice, a double side of bacon, a stack of pancakes, hash browns, and toast.
"I can't believe you went on. Ellen confessed your love for me, and here we are." Y/N joked.
"HAHA, I'm trying to block that out because I can't believe I did that. I think it turned out well for me, though. Michael Scott said, "You miss 100% of the chances you don't take." Joe laughed.
"Why do I have to go back tomorrow?"
"Because you're an amazing football player, you must give the public what they want and fulfill your contractual obligations."
"I'm usually really excited to get back to work, but I'm also really excited about you, so I'm conflicted."
"I'll be here; I've got an album to make. Besides, who else am I gonna do?"
Joe laughed, "I didn't mean that.."
"But didn't you?" Y/N took take a sip of her coffee.
They sat in comfortable silence for a bit; Y/N drew a miniature cartoon portrait of him.
"Is this really how I look?" he asked, leaning over to see what she'd drawn.
Y/N nodded as she finished up the details on his hair. "Yup. Super handsome with soft eyes and a perfect jawline."
Joe smiled softly and looked down. "Your far too cool for me, Y/N."
"I know. Have you packed yet?"
"Not really. I sort of just throw everything into my bag."
"Nice; even though I'm on the road a lot, packing for a trip is the bane of my existence. I can't foresee what I might be feeling like in the future or my mood, so how can I be expected to know what I want to wear?"
"That's why you've got to make it easy. Wear the same two pairs of pants, five or six shirts, and a jacket. That's it."
Joe sighed, "I don't want to leave like this, you know. I don't know when the next time I'll be free again. I feel like I'm going to be a million miles away."
Y/N got up from her chair and moved to his lap.
"I want to do this with you again, Y/N."
"So..." she started to ask.
"I'm not sure; I don't know how to navigate this."
"I feel like it's a little late to say this, but let's take it slow and just try to stay in touch and see what happens. No pressure."
